2015 Summer heat predictions

With the abundant moisture received throughout the Texas panhandle along with most of Texas, in addition to our moisture -can any predict that our summer will be cooler than normal? I realize it will be humid but I'm wondering about the 'heat dome' and extreme heat.

Any idea? Guesses?

So far, looks like a repeat of 2013, mainly wet with very few days with temps over 100.

If the summer is going to be like 2013, I can easily live with it. But not when it comes to those hot, dry summers of 2011 and 2012 that went over the top, like never before.

The very high soil moisture from the May rains and the active southern stream of the jet stream will probably keep Oklahoma with a below-normal summer temperature-wise. However, the humidity will probably be quite high, so take your pic what you like (cooler but very muggy or quite hot but dry).

I agree. An urban planning speaker at OU years ago was talking about how geography and weather - other than the usual too cold, too hot, etc. - is a huge predictor of growth (or lack of). His example was Texas. You would see one long and uninterrupted megacity and resort areas from Houston to Brownsville if the region was not so humid. So, it's not all about the temperature, humidity can make all the difference.

I can deal with Phoenix heat much easier than Florida or La. Guess its that old saying which I won't repeat..ha
