Mustang New Restaurant on East Side

I just read in the paper that Mustang will be getting a new sit down restaurant on the East side of town, my guess would be near the Walmart/Lowes complex. They aren't releasing any names, but say they are close to a deal and it will be open first part of 2015.

Awesome! I'm hoping for a Chilis! I know they're a lot like Applebee's but they're way better to me.

I was kind of hoping it was something the West side of OKC didn't have like maybe a Cheddar's.

That'd be nice! We probably won't get that lucky though.

I know, we can hope. I'd also be okay with a nice steak restaurant. Hopefully we hear something soon.

Someone on Facebook said "It's an IHOP. I thought that was common knowledge."

Any addition to our slim choices to chow down out here is a good thing.

Or maybe something original and not a chain.

I saw that too. It may be an IHOP but I don't think that's common knowledge. They act like the deal is done, and any day now when they submit some kind of public doc they should release it.

The Mustang City Council will be voting on allowing Food Trucks into Mustang. They seem to be leaning toward a yes vote. BFT!

Yeah I read this in the paper. Would be very stupid if they vote no.

IHOP would be nice. We have a couple of places for breakfast but they're not the best.

Confirmed in the paper today, IHOP will be coming in front of Lowes.

BOOOOOO...if you want IHOP, just drive up the road. I wonder if it will be next to Applebee or Taco Bell? I thought the S.E. corner would be reserved for something worth while like a hotel?

It says the address is 1068 E SH152, and best I can tell that should be by Applebees. I'm not big on IHOP, but for those of us on the East side it will be much closer than the one on Meridian.

There is an Ihop and I-40 and Mustang road next to Homeland. I would be in the middle of the two and don't really care for Ihop.

Says that Ihop she be starting as soon as they pick a contractor.

Paper today said that IHOP closed on the land, will be just to the east of Applebees, and should be starting mid-February with target open date of mid-June. Will be hiring in about 30-45 days with most being trained at their Mustang Rd location in OKC.

Can't wait, Mustang has needed a 24 hour sit down restaurant for some time. Now we just need to get some hotels near the hospital and armory.

There was an article that they wanted to put one behind Bronco stop. Not really sure if there is enough room back there. I mean there is all that land south of the hospital and some behind Lowes, in front, further east, really just a ton of land around this area that is begging to develop. I really think within a year and a half there are going to be a lot more announcements for Mustang. Just enough time for companies to see what the hospital brings to town.

Mustang Times, Public hearing to be held on property rezoning for possible hotel

Yeah, I don't think the city will grant the rezoning. I have heard the city is courting several hotel chains since the hotel tax vote.

Fence up around the IHOP space today. Should break ground Monday.
