Mustang Mustang to get Freddys Frozen Custard

Looks like it's going to be going in next to Chicken Express.

A single Freddy burger has about the same fat content as a Chik Filet sandwich so now that's the only burger I eat.

Next to the Chicken Express. Good Lord. They make a strong bird.

    Excellent news.

I agree. This is actually a fast food place I was kind of excited about.

Also the old Ace Hardware is going to become a Stage clothing store. They are actually going to make the store bigger expanding to the south.

Yeah I have a thread about that as well. The one titled Old Walmart.

Looks like they are starting work on this. Been doing some dirt work and cut the curb. I kind of thought they'd use the existing entrance with Chicken Express as it looks like when that was built it was done to accommodate 2 fast food restaurants, but apparently it needs more than one.

Yes, I have an OGE friend who is doing the hook up and he said they will use the entrance from Chicken Express but will have another dedication drive off of HW 152, my guess an exit from the drive thru. I still have a hard time picturing this in such a small lot....but I said the same thing about Jack in the Box.

I thought the same thing about Jack in the Box. But it seems to work and after going there a couple times, it really doesn't seem as small as I thought. I'm betting Freddys will be the same way.

They're now saying Freddies opening will be late June or into July.
On another note, the good news is that the paper said today that a national restaurant franchise is looking at property on the far West side of town. WoOt!

Yeah I saw that, just don't get it. Why spread the businesses out. Clearly the center for business is around Sara road, which honestly is fairly close to the center. I personally would try to keep everything between Mustang to Morgan. Still plenty of room and space. I'd rather see it get developed as commercial than residential which is the rumor I've been hearing, and I'd say it's a pretty good rumor as my bank might be financing it.

The more tax money we can keep in our community the better. I had not driven west on 44th from Mustang road in awhile, did so yesterday. Looked like 2 more big neighborhoods going in. One good way to get rid of red cedars I guess.

I think if you look at where the homes are you'll find that there are more on the West side of town than over by the Sara / Morgan section. (plus the 240 homes planned on Hwy 92 just N of the 7-11.)

Obviously there would only be commercial property fronting Hwy 152. Nobody is going to plat a residential developement along the Hwy.

There are a ton of houses out around the airport back towards the river plus just all those houses on the south side of the river in north turtle. I think that's a big reason why the develop is where it is which IMO makes sense as it's centered if you look at those areas and not just mustang. I know after their study the city had done they are starting to realize just exactly where people come from.

I want to check out this "North Turtle." (one of the better autocorrects of the day).

Yeah that's what I get for replying on the phone. Had an irritating day and night. Storms last night decided to launch the neighbors porch swing through my window and 12:15 and with all the rain it did some damage.

That's rotten. You must have really gotten some wind. I bet you didn't see that one coming. Did it fly off their porch and hit your house? You are not far from where that rotation when through, right?

Hate to hear that. I know we are in same general area and it was definitely loud and noisy at 104/MacArthur but no damage here. Hopefully no one was hurt?

Yeah I'm guessing it was right above me. I actually saw Reed Timmer drive by when they were talking about the wall cloud. The swing had to travel at least 300 feet to bust the window. Pretty crazy.

Luckily the wife, the dog and I were in bed. It was right after all the hail had stopped and it seemed as though it was dying down. So when it happened I honestly thought at first someone is breaking in. The worse part was just cleaning all the glass and everything up. It launched well into my living room. We are having a big graduation party for my sister in law, so I spent all day cleaning it up and trying to get someone out here to fix it. Of course no one in the state had that window, but luckily I got some people to cut a temp piece of glass so it looks somewhat normal.

Also I didn't mention this, but the wind blew my boat about 20 feet from where it was, and put a couple good dents in the shed with it. I feel like I'm the only person with damage. Lucky me. But maybe that means I won't have any the rest of the season.

Do not say you are immune. Are you MAD?? You are just asking for it and since I'm right down the road, I'm next. .

Here's hoping this is your excitement for the season. Bad timing, sounds like. But glad you're okay - hope the boat is, too.

I was honestly hoping for a less exciting storm season. I guess for most it's been alright, but hey I'll take a broken window any day if it means we don't have tornadoes that do the widespread damage that it did last year. I'll totally take one for the team.
