11th most valuable franchise is impressive, but it's a bit of a misnomer as it reflects revenues the preceding year, not what the team would sell for. Still, very nice improvement since the team moved here. But what's really impressive is the fact that we had the NBA's top television ratings last year. For a market the size of ours, that is an amazing statistic.

OKC is lucky more than anything else.

I will say this as often as I can until I hear more people openly acknowledging it: Kevin Durant is very likely to be the best player to ever suit up for the Thunder. Talent like his generally comes around once in a generation, and that talent usually ends up in LA or Boston. About half of the NBA franchises have never seen a Top 10 player All-Time in their uniform (and some of the one's who have, only saw said player for a season or two). KD has a chance to be one of those players.

He, Kobe, Duncan, and Lebron bring insane amounts of value to a team just by being under contract with that team.

There is an equalizer to city population, bad management. NY has had that problem for a while, it is still a little early to say on LA but so far the Buss children are not doing nearly as well as their father did.

But it's not "TVs in OKC", right? It's TVs in our "catchment" or whatever it's called? And that was just enlarged/covers a big geographical area and so could actually be quite a lot of TVs, no?

The article says we"tripled our figure" compared to last year, but there's no specific data.

For example, my sister is a 14-year NYC resident, but she is a Thunder fan, and the only basketball games she has attended in either Brooklyn (where she lives) or Manhattan (where she works) in the last few years have been Thunder@Knicks or Thunder@Nets games (where she proudly wears her Westbrook shirt).

The same here in Denver, the only Nuggets game that I have been to is a Thunder-Nuggets game.

These figures are also from last season. The en-catchment area that now includes Kansas and Kansas City, and sometimes up to Omaha, just started this season. I look for us to jump even more next year, especially if we make it to the finals.

65 - 70 k viewers ? I'm calling BS on that number, where ever it came from. My brother, who lives in Sedona Arizona, told me they watched the Thunder several games on FoxAz last year.....

We are getting a few things confused. This is for local tv ratings. Ie for Okc only. This doesn't even count Tulsa.

And 100% doesn't count any thing on foxaz.

There are 715k +/- TV sets in the Okc metro.

And average 8.65 rating. = the numbers I posted per game.
