Tokyo Japanese Restaurant

I've noticed a decline in service there the past few times I've been to Tokyo Sushi Bar. Anyone else having good or not-so-good experiences?

It used to be that everyone there would hustle to get you seated, serve hot towels, take a drink and food order, etc. Lots of attention, great service, everyone pitching in.

But the other night was typical of recent experiences. One waitress was covering the south dining room and sushi bar while three people stood idly at the reception counter, unwilling to take our drink order even when asked. One of the guys preparing sushi took our order and quickly returned with our drinks, and we had our sushi order ready which he immediately prepared. All while the waitress covered the other diners and three others continued to talk.

Has the business changed hands?

I haven't noticed any problems or changes. I eat there about once or twice a month for lunch.

Are you referring to Tokyo Japanese Restaurant on N. Western? If so, haven't noticed any changes. Depending on when you go, it can get pretty busy and service will slow some. Still the best, most authentic Japanese restaurant in OKC.

I never got the fuss over Tokyo. I've been several times over the years, and the fish tasted old and gross. The only place I actually couldn't eat the sushi it was so bad. Could be random luck, but I was not impressed. Definitely didn't live up to the hype. My party who are bigger sushi eaters felt the same way as well.
