NBA Putting the Heat's run in perpective.

You cannot deny that the Heat are on an incredible run. This Thread is not to cast any doubt as to how good they are, because they are a true championship team. I want to put it in perspective though.

First, The Heat are in the Eastern Conference. And this season, the East is nowhere near the WC.
Second, The last loss the Heat had was on the road to Indiana(2nd in the East).
Third, during their run, 7 of those have been against WC teams.
Fourth, of those 7, 5 are playoff teams.
Fifth, 4 of those teams they played on their home floor.
Sixth, the one they won on the road against the Thunder; they can be given credit for bringing their A game to OKC.
Seventh, the rest of their wins have been against the lowly EC.
Eighth, They have been healthy during this run.

So, what does this all mean? The Heat are enjoying an easy and very generous schedule. Once again, I do not take anything away from the how good the Heat are. Because, their run is truly impressive. However, I just wanted to shed a bit of light on it.

The worst part of it is they can lose more than half of their remaining games and still be #1, so when the Heat lose it wont even matter, last season I remember Lebron saying, they secured a spot in the playoffs so theres no need to play hard the remaining reg. season, if a Thunder player said that, we would get whooped every game =(

When you're the best team in the league, everyone looks like scrubs.

There's no need to put perspective around a 26 game win streak...only 1 other team has done it in all of NBA history. OKC lost to the Washington Wizards earlier this year...so there's no discounting this as somehow less impressive than it really is: The 2nd best streak in the 37 years of the modern NBA.

We were in one of the suites at the Thunder game last night. Since the Thunder was so far ahead half of the people there were watching the miami game on one of the tv's. Good game for the bulls. They were effective at stopping Miami.
