Horrible news! I did just hear that it's not a total loss. Look for them to reopen sooner than later.

What a shame. We didn't go there often, but really enjoyed each rare visit.

The story was right behind one on an apartment fire that also started on the roof/in the attic . . .
Lightning perhaps? Maybe hail damage to some part of the electrical system that took awhile to actually start a fire?

Never been there, what kind of place was it? I have been to the mexican place that is near there, Mama Roja's, which I thought had very good food and nice decor. Understand they had some hail related damage too (breaking out windows and subsequent rain/water damage)????
They were famous for rotiscerre chicken and smokey salmon.
They had other stuff too (steaks . . . pork chops).
The main thing on the plate was always excellent, but the side "Vegetable Medly" could have used some work.
(Just a touch too raw/al dente . . . and the same-ol' same-ol' stuff).
The ambiance made up for any of the "room for improvement".
I always felt like I got an excellent meal for the price.
My wife agrees.
One of those places that I could eat everything on the menu and it'd all be good whether it was their beef tenderloins, enchiladas or meatloaf. They also have some great apps like the stuffed poblano and trout dip. Sucks it happened now as its a great place in the warmer months. Hopefully will get back to rebuilding soon.

Maybe this will cause them to open a downtown restaurant, which at one time I'd heard was being planned. Of course it might take as long to get a space ready as to rebuild their existing restaurant.
Only place the wife would actually go to order meatloaf.
Okay . . . So, they had the Second Best Meatloaf in the World.
I won't argue with that . . . I will leave it to actual restauranteurs

to sort that out. =)
After the food, the next coolest thing about this place was the outdoor
FirePit/Deck/Dining and Refreshment Area with the lake in the background.
It was almost as good as was Bahama Breeze.

If there is room along The Canal or The Oklahoma River (and I hope that there is) . . . Would the current site revert to a park where people could fly kites and walk their dogs and stuff? Maybe with a parking area to accomodate the informal holiday exodus from Downtown of people in search of where all the Food Trucks went after the Food Fest Crackdown in the vicinity of The Flaming Lips Art Gallery near Automobile Row and the notoriously violent Bricktown awhile back?
Oh. Wait: How about Pops II? Arcadia is a long way to drive.
If not that . . . Then maybe The Spaghetti Warehouse is ready to relocate . . .
Willard's Roofing: The Café? They could have an accessible, affordible signature dish . . .
"Schite on a Shingle" . . ?
Rebuild/Repair Red Rock Canyon Grill.

Maybe there could even be an opportunity to "buy stock" in the company the proceeds of which could be used to get rid of that Lakeside Eyesore (and walking/bicycle path/undisturbed wilderness violator): Louie's.

Hank Kraft, chief operating officer of the Hal Smith Restaurant Group, said workers were trying to save food and will try to have the restaurant reopened as quickly as possible.
I ate there several times and enjoyed it. Hopefully, if they rebuild, they will tweak it a little to take full advantage of the lakeshore and the location
I never had a meal at Red Rock that I wasn't happy with. I was sad to see that it had burned down. Weird as it may sound, I had some fond memories with friends at that place. I hope they rebuild. It's a lovely spot on the lake.

I heard today from a VERY reliable source that Red Rock will re-open in 90 days, or less. Also, apparently the kitchen itself was not touched; it was just the roof, dining room, and patio.
