I'm on my phone right now and can't get the video to work so can someone explain exactly what this is about.

NBA.com uses flash and I don't know if they can recognize iOS and render in html5. Are you using an iPhone?

If they do that, I will be wearing my old jerseys forever

The world of soccer already does this. No big deal IMHO.

It is a big deal because it is stupid and not neccesary

Could be that with the operating costs today and in the future that all the advertising dollars a team can get are/will be necessary.

Do you think if a person saw a uniform with a sponsorship on it like Subway, they will say "Oh my god, I must buy it!"? I doubt it!

I'm quite certain that millions of soccer jerseys are sold with sponsors on the front...If anything it gives people the incentive to buy more...every time the sponsor changes.

Personally, I really like this idea. If it means fewer costs for the fans and city (although it probably won't), then I'm all for it. And besides, the ads on foreign jerseys look kinda cool. Will be very hard to get the American fan mindset to get used to the idea.
