    Eight Innovative Features
    ALL ALUMINUM BODY (145”L X 95”W X 68” HEADROOM, CUSTOM CONFIGURATION)
    Extra space in the patient compartment of EMSA’s first production prototype gives medics more room to

    maneuver during patient transports. Also, the durable, all-aluminum body is lighter than other commonly

    used materials. Weight is an important issue – the lighter the ambulance, the more medical equipment

    that can be carried on board.
    DIGITAL ELAPSED TIME CLOCK
    In a crisis, seconds seem like minutes and minutes feel like hours. The digital clock, which enables

    patients to keep close watch on the time, will help alleviate stress and keep patients oriented. The clock is

    also a great boon to medics aiming to accelerate care for the most critically ill and injured patients.
    EMSA CUSTOM LED WARNING SYSTEM BY WHELEN ENGINEERING
    LED lights are brighter and more effective than other lighting schemes. Motorists will be able to see the

    ambulance from a greater distance and thus have more time to move out of its path.
    LED UNDERBODY GROUND ILLUMINATION
    Improves scene lighting and helps medics spot obstacles on the ground so they may provide enhanced

    roadside assistance to patients.
    CLASS 1 CUSTOM MULTIPLEX PROGRAMMABLE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
    EMSA’s first new unit has both standard electrical wiring and a class 1 custom multiplex programmable

    electrical system. The class 1 system is more durable and easier to service than standard wiring. Plus, it

    lightens the weight of the ambulance considerably. Future ambulances will carry only the class 1 system.
    HIGH-PERFORMANCE DUCTED HEAT/AC SYSTEM
    Having air blow from several strategically placed ducts in the patient compartment, instead of from one

    central vent, will improve temperature regulation in the box and make patients’ transports more

    comfortable.
    SAFETY NET AT HEAD OF SQUAD BENCH
    The safety net is designed to prevent medics from crashing into the bulkhead compartments in the event

    of a collision or emergency deceleration. Slamming into the bulkhead is a common cause of paramedic

    injury.
    BACKUP OBSTACLE WARNING SYSTEM
    Warning devices give audible alerts to notify ambulance operators that objects are behind them and gives

    distances to contact. The system emits a very shrill alarm when objects are in the operator’s blindspot.

    I guess the day of the orange and white ambulances is dead.

    I remember the reason for them was for visibility. The red, white and blue ones look nice, however.
