Their sign mentions Prime Grade Steaks. That caught my eye.

Frosted Mug Grill sounds like a fine name, but why was there an urge to also add "& Big Bar?" That just make the name unnecessarily longer. If they want a long name, then so be it, but Big Bar? They were creative with the first portion of the name, but spiraled downward on creativity on "Big Bar."
My thinking on it would be "Frosty Mug Grill" could be an A&W type place, by adding "Big Bar" it clarifies what kind of place it is. Presume that "Big" either means they have plenty of bar space or plenty of bar choices. What would you suggest to be more creative on the "Big bar" part (and still gets that point across)?
Their Facebook page says opening in 30-60 days.
This is a prime area IMO. Could end up being a hit if done right.
It has always confused the hell out of me why there are not sidewalks on meridian. So many hotels and lots of foot traffic, I always see people walking on the lawns of the hotels/restaurants, you would think they would install them by now.
Pretty straight forward name...Appeals to my demographic for sure
"Prime Steaks" might have caught the Initial Poster's eye, but "Frosted Mug" caught mine.
There used to be a little dive bar out on NE 23rd between Nicoma Park and Choctaw that served their draft beer in frosty mugs.
As far as I was concerned, that was the only valid reason to stop in. What passed for "food" in there was Tony's Pizza, Pickled Sausages and Pickled Eggs. Remember Pickled Eggs? I think that the chickens that laid some of those floating in that embalming fluid were pre-WWII hens.
Doesn't "Frosty Muggs" sound like a great name for a 1940's sportwriter?

I went there today, rather disappointing since I was expecting prime grade steaks and actual frosted mugs since that was on their billboard for a week or two. They had neither.
I ordered the 8oz sirloin. It had a distinct chemical-like taste to it. It was cooked medium rare, just like I asked. Onion Rings were ok, nothing special, same with the salad. I would not recommend ordering a steak. Someone next to me ordered the Nachos which one of the bartenders was raving about, very large portion size.
You can go get the lunch steak (5-6oz) from Cattlemens for $7.99 on weekdays, a roll, salad, and a side. It has a better flavor IMO.
Very similar menu to Chilis, roughly the same price points. Menu looks very professional for non-chain restaurant with professional looking pictures of menu items.
As far as the mugs go, They wash them, rinse them and put them in a standard bar freezer. They were not frosty like I was expecting. This dive bar up in Idaho had what I would consider "frosty mugs", they would actually mist them and freeze the mugs which would put an actual layer of ice on the mugs. Once they poured my glass of Boulevard Wheat, any "frost" was on the mug was gone instantly.
Waitresses at bar are dressed similar to Emerson Biggins next door. One had a good personality. Large Plasma TVs thru out the bar/restaurant with ESPN playing.
So . . . Could this be best described as . . .
Lamé Cuisine?
Or SOS (on a shingle) DD?
Hopefully the Muggs were at least as frosty as the waitresses.
Or even moreso . . . Or lessso . . .
The one thing I would have a bit of trepidation about trying at that culinary venue would be anything involving the letters SUSHI. Or, more properly, SUHI.

I ate there for lunch on Friday, Nov. 10. Pretty disappointing in my opinion.
I wasn't all that hungry so I opted for the quesadilla appetizer. It wasn't bad, but wasn't good, just like every other quesadilla that you get at 90 percent of this type of establishments, only they are like $8 or something. That bothered me most, 15 dollars and some change for a basic quesadilla with chicken and a soda. The quesadilla came with a little bit of salsa and sour cream.
That was the first time and the last time I will go there. I had high hopes since I work near there and am completely burnt out on most of the restaurants on Meridian. Was hoping for something new and worth the money.
