If you are in the market to upgrade some appliances at home and stuff, this might help with the bills a bit. The biggest thing to remember is that you must pay for the work and then submit the request to get a rebate. They'll be done first come, first serve - so no guarantee you'll see any money.

Really good deal if you are going from electric to gas water heaters. The gas dryer one isn't bad either.

I saw this a few days ago and im kinda skeptical that depending on the results of programs like these we will be smacked by higher fuel prices this winter as they increase dependence.

Some how after their contractors came out and did an audit, 'tuned up my a/c', 'fixed some airducts' in the attic we now are paying around more 50 dollars a month this summer than we did last summer. I know it was a hot summer, but we have a programmable thermostat that is running the same program we were the previous year and haven't purchased any new electronic appliances....

I called and asked why the difference and the girl told me that the ac is working harder because of the temps. I corrected her and explained that if the condenser is running it draws the same power regardless of what the outside temp on standard condenser units. So im still kinda at a loss at how our electric bill has been increasing.
