I almost hate to give up the secret, but this place has the most amazing buffet in OKC……..every time I go in there for lunch there may be like four tables with people and they are usually middle eastern or Mediterranean looking I guess….. I just take it as a sign of it being fairly authentic.

It’s about $10 with water and tax, but you will not be disappointed. Out on NW Expressway west of Golden Corral and all…..before MacArthur.

I personally love gyros…….they have a tray full of the gyro meat that you can have all you want. If you like meat – they will not disappoint. It seems like some of the ethnic buffets like the Indian place on May skimp on dishes with meat…… you won’t find that at this place. They have both a beef and chicken kabob type meat and the onions, mushrooms, peppers separately.......they have a giant thing of that yogurt sauce that rocks too.

Lots of the really authentic dishes too….. I don’t even check the names. Some with meat/chicken and some without. This is more of a meat lovers place than vegetarian though. They did have a nice broccoli salad today and they always have a really nice cucumber salad along with the regular salad stuff.

I’m not a very good restaurant reviewer, but I’m pretty ****ing fat and I feel pretty qualified on that count to assure you that you won’t be disappointed in this place.

Like I said, I hate to share the secret, but I hate to see them go out of business is the only reason I’m telling you all. I didn’t see it on a search if it has been discussed before. I asked about how the business was doing one time and the guy at the register said they do most of their business in catering, but it couldn’t hurt to send a few people their way for lunch……it’s awesome!

I was very sad to see Sushi Plus Buffett close in that location and I was sad to see TAJ fold but I would be especially sad to see Sinbad's go out of business.

The owner of Sinbad has kept some of the more popular dishes from TAJ and they are better now than they were under the Indian owners. The Med stuff is fantastic and I particularly love the dolmas (stuffed grape leaves) and the Persian meatballs.

I would recommend getting there right around the time they open because their traffic isn't heavy and sometimes the food gets somewhat old and dried out after awhile.

Overall, this is one of my favorite places to eat and the only time I've been dissatisfied was about a week ago when we went in about 7:30 at night and some of the food was no longer fresh. I expressed my disappointment to the owner and he apologized and said that should never happen. He also stated that they were preparing to cater for 1200 people over the next two days and the kitchen was chaos getting ready for that. Some might not accept that as an excuse but this was the first time it's happened and I love the food so much that I will definately keep going.

Yeah, I was hoping somebody would articulate that better……. I don’t know the names of any of their dishes – I just know it’s amazing and there never seems to be anyone there.

Probably because the building is a dump and they do very little advertising.

The "Mediterranean" flavors you're getting now are primarily Persian dishes, and the majority of them are awesome. The chicken, beef, and lamb kabobs are all great. Like you said, they kept the more popular Indian dishes from the last place that's why the selection is kind of random. I'm Persian and I can verify that the flavors and dishes are authentic and they're pretty high quality.

The owners are Persian and the Persian community has welcomed this place as a random locale for get-togethers and small events, hence the kitchen closing for catering needs. They also have a bar/hookah area region on the side that turns into more of a club on weekend nights.

I never would have walked into the place just from the look on the outside. It's still in a crappy building in a random parking lot in front of LifeChurch/Incredible Pizza, but the food and service inside outdoes the building for sure.

Reviving a really old thread. Does anyone know if the folks who operated this restaurant are involved in any other Mediterranean restaurants in the metro?
