    Default New Jay Leno show?

Has anyone watched the new Jay Leno show the past couple of nights? I've kind of been a Jay Leno fan but I'm struggling with this new show. For whatever its worth - just seems to me to be very, very weak - like they are trying to hard to be funny. I'll be very shocked if this show lasts more than just a couple months. What do you think?

    Lame. I like letterman.

Shouldn't this be in a different forum?

I don't think 50% of the readers are aware there are other sections to this website.

No, Letterman is lame. If I have to see one more time a digital count downc lock on his show showing how much time Madoff has left in prison, I'm liable to finally give up on Letterman and quit him. Besides, he's about to get too old.

I thought the first night was pretty good. I could have done without Kayne West though. I watched the first few minutes last night until Michael Moore came on. I turned the channel when I heard his name.

Good lord, Kerry. Why don't you tell this fine forum how can you possibly be so wrong and be so dumb as to turn your back on this man, Michael Moore, who wants to take our taxpayer bailout money from the banks and give it back to the U. S. Treasury? Michael Moore just absolutely rocks, by far. Make no doubt about it, whatsoever, folks. And I deeply pity anyone who feels such deep and heart felt hatred and resentment against him.

It was a ratings hit, make no mistake. It was a bit mild over the past nights, but it will get better. Everyone is probably a little nervous, and it just feels different with the new set and the fact that the band even seems farther away. There are so many contextual cues that were in the old show that are gone now.

Oddly enough, Jay's hair is driving me crazy. It looks like he really needs a haircut; seems much longer than a year ago. And I'd heard he lost around 15 lbs for the new show, but I can tell ya, I don't see any sign of it.

Conan is improving, and I enjoy his monologue lately too, but my newest discovery of Craig Ferguson is the best thing since sliced bread. That guy is killing me. His humor just hits me the way it should.

My grandmother loves Jay.. So did my great-grandparents.

his only saving grace was to move to an earlier hour so the 60+ crowd can stay awake long enough to see his bigass chin on TV every night. His next move should be to Branson playing opposite Yakov Smirnoff..

And to the person who mentioned Craig Ferguson's show... +1!

In Soviet Russia, Jay Leno Show watches you!

Myself I enjoy watching Jay, he is 10 times better than Conan. Conan is the same old routine everynight with the hip swing and jump, it is like fingernails on a chalkboard!

I love Conan and wish Triumph, the Insult Comic Dog would make appearances more often.

Last night was a fun show. Jay flipped up a clip on Halle Barry from her way younger days, followed by her introducing a clip from way back when, where Jay was a doofus biker guest role on the diner sit-com Alice (doofus biker - some things never change, do they?)

Berry had a new parent story that was hysterical, at least to this parent.

Leno, conan, letterman, what a choice..after the lackluster local newsreaders are done, i either sleep, or watch dvds, its just nothing worthy is on

After watching a couple of weeks, I think Jay's show needs some tweaks. The idea to have top comics on after the monologue is brilliant, but he is making one slight mistake, he's putting them into situations where they are not funny! Maybe it's just me, but I like my comedians to be funny. He'd do better if he just had them do stand-up comedy.

His 10 at 10 really stinks (by and large), and the car racing thing, well, that's the dumbest, most boring thing for a viewer I've ever seen; gee, I'd expect that kind of stupidity on Letterman!

Maybe viewer feedback will correct the show, but for now, the best thing I've found on TV in years is Craig Ferguson, and thanks to my DVR, I can enjoy his monologue each night.

I told you so! I told you so! (and I don't mean that in a prideful way...)

There is no "I told you so." Jay's show is to continue, just in a different time slot. Contrary to popular belief, it has NOT been canceled, just moved. The Great news is that wisecraking idiot who replaced Jay on "The Tonight Show" has declined his timeslot offer. I hope he (Conan O'Brian) goes where he belongs... Into the crapper.

Leno' comedy is lowest-common-denominator garbage that the mouth-breathers and senior citizens eat up with a spoon.

Good for Conan for not going along with their compromised bullsh!t offer. I'll follow him wherever he goes.

Go die in a fire, "Jay," and take some NBC execs along with you.

You feel that way because Jay is conservative and Conan is a bleeding heart liberal. Liberals just can not stand the truth!

"Tonight Show" host Jay Leno defends himself against charges of a conservative bias in a no-holds barred interview:

“I'm not conservative. I’ve never voted that way in my life," Leno tells LA Weekly. He "really worries" what a Dubya victory in November will do to the makeup of the Supreme Court. He believes "the wool was pulled over our eyes" with the Iraq war. He thinks the White House began using terrorism "as a crutch” after 9/11. He feels that during the campaign Kerry should "make Bush look as stupid as possible."

    Late-Night Political Jokes
"Democrats are saying that President Bush is refusing to take part in a town hall debate with John Kerry because Bush is worried about the questions the audience will ask him. After hearing this, the president said, 'That's ridiculous. I'm not worried about the questions, I'm worried about the answers.'" —Conan O'Brien

"Bush and Cheney say now they're targeting people who can't make up their minds, so apparently their trying to get John Kerry's vote as well." —Jay Leno

This is a partial transcript from "The O'Reilly Factor," September 18, 2006, that has been edited for clarity.

I know — I don't know whether you know these guys. I know most of these guys. And, you know, Jay Leno, he's fair in his program, but he's a liberal guy. He'll tell you that.

David Letterman, very committed liberal. Bill Maher, off the chart left. Conan O'Brien, very liberal. Obviously, Colbert and Stewart live in the liberal precincts, make their living there.

I don't know, Kimmel; Ferguson, very liberal. I don't know what Kimmel is doing. What I'm saying to myself, shouldn't there be one moderate or conservative or traditionalist, you know, operating in these precincts?

I guess that means you're "right". I love how every thread in every forum except Nostalgia turns political eventually. Not.
