EDMOND, Oklahoma -- Oak Tree Golf Club has been renamed and will now be known as Oak Tree National.

The prestigious North Edmond course was built in 1976 by famed architect Pete Dye. Oklahoma City's Don Mathis sold the club to a group of local businessmen, headed by Ed Evans.

The course has held major tournaments and after the current renovation is completed, Evans said it is his expectation that other big tournaments will come to Oak Tree National.

My folks still live on the course and they are doing some major renovations that will give it a big boost. Course should reopen July 1.

Thanks for posting that. I was fortunate to get to play it on July 2 after it was reopened and it is stunning. there are still some constuction areas on 3, 7, and 8 where they have planted some natural wheatgrass and it will take some time to fill in. If you are a golf fan try to get on and play it sometime and it will really tell you how good of a golfer you really are

kind of hard to get on though if it's a private course. . . I'd love to play it again though, it's been years.
