What a bunch of crybabies....... Do they not understand what a 3 way tie is and the rules they agreed to prior to the season?

This is too funny...... How'd they do in the championship game against Missouri? I must have missed the sports page that day. Do you think they'll make "Big XII Champion" T-shirts? I gotta get one of those if they do. Use it as a cat box liner. Maybe they can make one for "Heisman trophy" winning QB Colt Mccoy too. ROFLMAO Next Octobers game should be interesting.
Good grief! What a bunch of whiners! Like Coach Stoops said a few years ago (or something to this effect), "Decide what you want the rules to be and we'll play by them."
I'll have to see if I can get one. I hope it has the * on it. PRICELESS!!!

Since they like their asterisks so much, I propose that all future references to UT* will include the asterisk.
Yea I heard about this today on the sports animal. Absolutely pathetic. So basically by deeming themselves champion, they are assuming they would have won the game against Missouri. how can you assume you win a game you didn't even play? I agree, what a bunch of whiners.
This can't be for real...
Sure it can be for real, everything's bigger in texas, even delusions
first, here's a pic:
second, they're taking it down:
espn: the celebrated asterisk banner is coming down

Okay, lets make this fun.
Post what you think is the meaning of the astrick *.

Texas took down the "2008* championship" late yesterday.
I see the ESPN link is already posted, old news from me.
I'm surprised the Schools Board of Directors allow such lack of integrity. What a lesson to teach the students. Claim what you want, even if it's not true!
Nice! Someone needs to mail a copy of that to the UT athletic dept. and Mack Brown
Wow, I wish I could get my employer to give me a bonus for something I didn't complete. Looks like Texas Football coaches are getting bonuses for the Big 12 Championship*

I wonder if the students at UT* approve that the school is doling out money for work that school employees didn't achieve. Man, if I was at school there, I would demand that I get degrees even though I never took the courses.
> I would demand that I get degrees even though I never took the courses.
You could, but they'd put a honkin' big ol' * next to your BS
Now that it's coming down, is it fair to say UT once again got its * kicked?
I have a BA* in B.S. from UT.

I'm thinking a shirt ... Boomer and Sooner with little thought balloons
.oO(Hey, bevo and buttheads! Kiss my *)Oo.
SWEET...I'd buy one.....
Maybe our friends at Sooner Cartoons could make an updated version of this showing UT getting their * kicked. soonercartoons.com\cartoons
For a state (Republic) now weighing the option to succeed from the union which could untimately result in paying back all federal highway funds of a receiving state (receives more funds than they pay in) Texas thinks it could survive on their own.
Didn't they learn from Regan's hype talking about California or did they just take this a run with it.
Texas is famous for two proverbs about fools:
"Never squat with your spurs on."
"When you throw dirt, you lose ground."

Remember everything is big in Texas including the lies they live with.
Just think, Oklahoma could now become the U. S. border to the Republic of Texas!
There were some good letters to the editor in today's Austin American Statesman.
I kinda liked this one.
As long as we are going to secede, let's divide into five countries, as permitted by Perry's interpretation of the Texas constitution. Zapata County in South Texas may want to be its own democracy. It would be the seventh-largest natural gas-producing country in the world and doesn't have to share with anyone. West Texas may also want to be separate so that it doesn't have to share its oil reserves.
And Travis County should be its own nation. We already have the Capitol complex, and the Longhorns would be national champions in everything every year. Every student who comes in from the rest of old Texas would have to pay out-of-state tuition. Then we could reduce in-state tuition for everyone in our new Travis Republic.
