There was a group of Oklahomans (all friends) who left Oklahoma back in the late fifties/early sixties, and all, in their own way, have made a success in the art and/or music world. Untitled [artspace] gallery at 1 NE 3rd Street (edge of Bricktown/CBD) just kicked off an exhibit on November 9th and will run through December 29th featuring these guys. Do yourself a favor and go see this exhibit! Here's a page from the Untitled website on the exhibit. They are kinda the art version of the literary beats. Oklahoma is getting behind so many great art exhibits making their way to OKC. This particular exhibit (Roots and Ties) was funded by and made possible in part by support from the Oklahoma Arts Council, the National Endowment for the Arts, the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts, the Oklahoma Centennial Commission, and Joanna Champlin. This one was is awesome. My, how things are changing in Oklahoma City!
