Looks like this place just opened. Seeing a social media push for it.

Also looks like they had their friends/family review-bomb the google page. Already over 70 5-star reviews that are mostly generic. May have had a deal for early customers if you wrote a review or something.

I will try to get in there within the next week to check it out.

Looks extremely generic like a set piece from a movie.
Was stuck in line at Hatch last weekend and wanted to pop over and get a drink since we still had a 40 minute wait but they didn't open until 4.

Shots on Rocks is a beautiful, energetic bar, lounge, and restaurant in OKC’s Automobile Alley.

Located at 1122 N. Broadway, guests can utilize the covered, free parking in the Broadway Park Building just south of the Oklahoma Contemporary Museum. A streetcar stop is also very nearby.

Young owners Ryan Crank and Ismaeel Alwazzi are fueled by their passion for good times and great company. They aim for a friendly, fun environment in an inviting setting.

Shots on Rocks offers signature cocktails, a small menu, a great sound system, and occasional live music. There is also a free-play pool table.

Hours are 4 PM to Midnight, 2 AM Friday and Saturday, closed Mondays.

maybe it's just me, and it's not a criticism... but 'shots on rocks' sounds like the kind of name dr. seuss would think up for a bar.

Maybe I'm getting to be an old man yelling at the clouds, but $11 for fried pickles seems pretty steep. House salad $10. Basic burger and fries for $15.

The place looks chill. I can’t think of anything like that around here downtown.
I ll give a try for a beer after work !

Looks very generic, nothing appealing at all.

I went a couple months ago and it was pretty chill. The DJ was playing some EDM, so that was a nice change from generic top 40 you mostly hear.

I do wish the pool table had a dedicated light.

Not sure why the criticism, I like it including the name. Good for Downtown and Automobile Alley to ADD businesses that stay open late!!

Looks pretty similar to local chains like Louie’s who you’d expect them to be priced slightly higher than. Fried Pickles $10, all burgers $13-$14 and all salads over $13. Everything seems annoyingly expensive everywhere.

Went last night just to check it out. The layout is very weird, big open space and there are like 5 separate door entrances? As a result there wasn't a bouncer or any security at the door checking IDs. It was pretty crowded and the vibe was similar to Kongs/Sunset. Wouldn't surprise me if they end up with some security issues before too long. I ordered a seltzer and Coors light and my tab was $15 lol. This place is doomed to fail. I give it less than a year.

Okay, I'll bite. What do you like about the name?

I think it's a terrible name for a bar. "Shots" are a small pour of liquor into a "shot glass" to be "shot" or drank in a single gulp. "Rocks" is a pour of liquor over ice, served in a "rocks glass" to be enjoyed slowly. These two things are never combined. By definition, they're two distinctly different ways of consuming liquor.

Further, one denotes a party atmosphere bringing to mind loud party music, cheap beer, and cheap liquor cut with sugary mixers. The other conveys fine whisky, poured in a nice setting, to be enjoyed slowly.

If they meant to reference tequila shaken with ice and poured into a shot glass that is called "chilled" - but I guess that didn't rhyme?

The name is so incoherent that it makes me think ownership has no clue what they're doing.

for those prices this should be very upscale ... and from the looks it is not ..

coors light and a seltzer would run you under 10 one block over at the garage

TBH, I could care less about the name. Are you that cinical that you'd desire a new business to fail because of its name or it didn't meet your approval? Why not just - don't go. But let the OKC market decide. Far too many people one here just nit pick about EVERYTHING! My goodness.

My points are still valid: provides an additional late night option for a much growing, diverse big city OKC.

Second time coming in and this place is lame. Good luck on them making it to year two. This is stuck in the 80's-90's. This place is going to zero.

I never said I wanted them to fail. My entire gripe is limited to the name. I do believe the name is awful. Haven't been in yet to experience it.

I'm planning to find a night soon to go have a drink there, with an open mind that is ready to be changed.

Hot Rod, the reason I replied to you on the name issue is because you said you liked it. I was hoping it had some other meaning or pun that I was failing to grasp and you could explain it to me.

It’s definitely better than Gigglez, which still has a soft spot in my heart as the worst named restaurant/bar to open in OKC this millennium.

Agreed, but just BARELY better. These are definitely 1-2 in OKC recent history.
