Thread: Who Wins America's Got Talent?

Default Who Wins America's Got Talent?

The finals are over. Who's gonna win America's Got Talent? I think my favorite to win are the Texas Tenors. You get 3 great voices, instead of one, and more richer sounding than that other threesome, Voices of Glory.

For his finale, I was wondering how Kevin Skinner would be like doing something even more emotional like "Live Like You Were Dying", and hoped he would pick that song but he had to blow it with something less suited for him that made him sound too amateurish. He can't win now. The other more talented solo singers are more likely to.

I doubt if Las Vegas wants an opera lady. More suitable for Vegas would be the bizarre Recycled Percussion. I wouldn't be surprised if they win.

Anyway, I find America's Got Talent much better entertainment than American Idol.

Nothing says 'America's Got Talent' like an out of tune chicken farmer and a foul mouthed grandmother.

The ones I like though I wouldn't pay to watch for an hour in Vegas. I think the foul mouthed granny might make a good opening act for a bigger headliner.

I was floored that Kevin Skinner won. I thought he blew it in his final performance. People must have found his humble background more compelling than his talent.

I may be biased, but I was pulling for Recycled Percussion.

I find it hilarious that you people think this is real.

So how do you know it was as fake as Championship Wrestling? After seeing Kevin Skinner win, though, it's enough to make you wonder to what extent it was real. But then don't the people behind America's Got Talent want to see an act win that can get and sustain a long running show in Las Vegas? If I'm right, Skinner's win entitles him to do only one show in Las Vegas and then what from there?

What from there? Another season of fake talent searches, fake competitions and fake contestants..

There's almost no difference between AGT/AI/LCS and WWE. It is entertainment based on the admiration of the lowest common denominator of American viewership..

There are at least 50 pod/vcasts out there showing how these "contestants" are picked, both on US and UK soil..

Sure, it is great entertainment, I'll give you that, but it's as fake as a 3 dollar bill.

Regardless if its fake or not, Bunty - I am with you - I was floored that America "chose" Skinner....I bet all of Kentucky and everyone who works at Tyson voted for him - lol!!!

Skinner sang Garth Brooks "If Tommorrw Never Comes" on the Tonight Show Thursday night.

And to think that one of the judges, Piers, who was quickest to the buzzer, had declared that Skinner was his personal favorite to win.

You're gonna have to define 'Fake' for us simpletons. If you by fake you mean the producers actually pick the winners - then fine, I'd agree with that. However, these are real people with real talents. Its not like the singers are lip-syncing. I assume some are found via public tryouts and others are found by scouts from the show.
