Reading an article about him, he had a stuttering problem as a child and taught himself how to control it. It was so bad, he basically didn't speak for about 8 years

    ^^^^^^^
Adding on to this, it was a teacher who encouraged him to become verbal, by reading his own poetry. The teacher realized he had a talent for poetry, and that by reading it he could overcome his stutter and his reluctance to speak. Just goes to show how much one teacher can change the world. And how important the humanities can be in a well-rounded education.

I don't have a subscription to the Tulsa World but I occasionally check out their website and it looked like Tito Jackson was attracted to Tulsa and may have had plans to do something there. It is a shame that he passed unexpectedly.

Kris Kristofferson passes at 88. Only one Highwayman left.

    "I was a sailor
I was borne upon the tide
And with the sea, I did abide
I sailed a schooner round the Horn to Mexico
I went aloft and furled the mainsail in a blow
And when the yards broke off they said that I got killed
    But I am living still"

I lost a good friend today in a horrible auto shop accident explosion in Choctaw. He was the owner of APS, a auto repair shop on NE 23rd. After a bad fire there several years ago he moved his shop to his house property in Choctaw. It has already been on the news. He was a dear friend and one of the best and smartest car repair guy I've ever met. He will be missed by his many friends and customers in the OKC and surrounding area. RIP Bo.
