Plans moving forward on OU arena and entertainment district

Norman is close to launching the $1 billion Rock Creek Entertainment District, a live/work/play community that will be home to restaurants, shops, hotels, office space, and housing alongside a new multi-purpose arena that will host concerts, community events and OU basketball and Gymnastics.


Located at Northwest 24th Avenue and Rock Creek Road, the project will create thousands of
new jobs, add over 1,000 housing units and is anticipated to spark billions in business spending
and economic activity in the area.

The project has been approved by the Norman City Council and construction could start in early 2025.

Currently, there is a signature-gathering effort to put this matter on the ballot for Norman citizens in February 2025.
