Lenny Wilkens has been promoted to president of the Seattle SuperSonics, according to a report by the Seattle Times.

He is no longer a candidate for the club's vacant head-coaching and general-manager positions.

Wilkens said he will lead the search to fill both spots.

Sonics owner Clay Bennett fired coach Bob Hill and removed GM Rick Sund earlier this week.

Wonder if Byron Scott needs a job?

Scott got a contract extension from the Hornets; he's signed through 2008-09 with an option for one more year.
