I noticed on Saturday that Pennys is going up fast...Any one know when they are planning on opening. I thought that there would be one huge shopping center going up at once, not one store at a time...

Yeah, I'm gonna feel really 'small town-y' if we just have a jc penny's standing alone. That is weird, I feel like I live in Nebraska.

Currently Enid has a stand alone JCPenney. It looks close to the same layout as the new Moore store. It looks really nice and the shopping center looks it is in looks like something you would find in suburban Edmond, Norman or Yukon.

I really like the stand-alone JCPenney. They had one in the town where I used to live and it seemed like it was more upscale than the mall stores.

Is it 2 story? Because if it's not, then that's a joke.

I think that Pennys is trying to change it's image and is looking to be more like Kohls. Kohls is not 2 story and they are primarily in stand alone buildings. Penny's is undergoing a change and soon there will be many more of the stand alone Penny's like the one in Moore. Here is a link in regards to new stores being built.

Yeah...I'm thinking Kohl's and Gordman's are less than excited about JC going in across the highway since from a simple minded guy's perception they are all the same

Well, I drove by again yesterday and there is another building beside it...so I guess the rest of the of what we were promised is going up...I can't remember everything, but I think there will be an Office Max and I am now brain dead and can't remember anything else right now...

Oh and for those that were griping about Our Ugly River Walk...Well now that we have actually had rain...unlike the last couple years...When that grows up, I think it will turn into something nice...Putting back some of the Trees and Grass that they tore down to lay all the Concrete and Asphalt...No it's not Bricktown, or San Antonio..but it isn't suppose to be...There were even Ducks swimming...And it is actually Little River..So it isn't like it was A Special Canal that we have to fill with water...I guess unless we have another Drought...Maybe then they could figure out how to put water in it..:bright_id

Oh GAWD the Smell!

Enid's JCPenney is not free standing it is an anchor of Oakwood Mall.

I know this has been posted before, but here is a rendering of the shopping center.

PetsMart, Ross and a Men's Warehouse are also a part of the shopping center.

Intrepid, I'm confused. Where is the section with Panera and the little park in the middle?

Could this be an outdated diagram?

That rendering is from July 2006 and came directly from the City of Moore's Economic Dev site. If there's an updated rendering, they haven't posted it.

I haven't seen anything about a Panera or a little park, nor is it listed on the sign at the construction site. That doesn't necessarily mean anything, as plans change, or are added, all the time.

If you notice on the rendering, there are several sites out near the service road that say "Restaurant". Perhaps Panera is going to be one of those?

Well it's already there. Just NW of Old Chicago is two buildings that are perpendicular to the main strip and closer to the street. Panera is already open in one of them.

I just looked on Panera's web site and the only location listed within 5 miles of the 73160 zip code is the one on 104th and Penn.

Also, the only Old Chicago locations on their web site are in Midwest City and Edmond.

Well I saw something about 35 and was really confused and even considered that I was thinking of a different development but it didn't click.

Yeah, i had originally asked "East or west of I-35?" but then edited the post with the info from the Panera and Old Chicago web sites.
