Clarity Coffee coming to Midtown for their Third Location. They will take over the Sincerely Coffee spot next to Commonplace Books.

Good news. Was sad to hear about Sincerely having to close but am glad there's an experienced operator taking over. They're also re-opening the opening between the coffeeshop and and Commonplace which is a great idea.

Actually, I believe the shop moved to Edmond a few years back. Looks like they are either moving back to the Midtown area or opening a second location. If you look at their website the address currently shows "111 N. Broadway
Edmond, OK 73034". However, if you type the store into google it will not take you to Edmond. As if the owner took the address off. I am guessing He is moving it back to Midtown.

Did they go out of business altogether? They had a jerky cart in the mall too. The store seemed busy times I went, but it kinda fell off the radar.

That said, by far the biggest part of their operation is online fulfillment. The building they’ve been in has experienced an ownership change and they have now moved to a new location that better facilitates their online fulfillment but as of right now they’ve not replaced the walk-in retail component.

Lorena, named for Burson's grandmother, will offer modern Southern fare with a twist. Cally Johnson will be executive chef, and the projected open date is Q1 2025. Burson said of the food: "It’s a bold, innovative take on the classics, celebrating the rich flavors and comforting essence of Southern cuisine in an entirely new way." Fitzsimmons Architects are handling the redesigned space, and Burson has already added a new patio on the south side of the building. Funnel Design created the logo and branding."

That would be a nice landmark, especially if you wanted to meet up with someone, just say "meet me at the cake slice over at Midtown." Or even if you're giving directions. "If you see a huge slice of cake nearby, you've gone too far."

I actually prefer stuff like this over the many People statues they have littered all over downtown Edmond. This is unique and will get people talking about it and will probably get tons of photos taken of it. The OKC Ring still looks good, but it is kind of boring to me.

Stuff like this actually helps local venues gain customers and attention because of how much attention it could draw, then also possible rile some stomachs to saying "Hey, I want something to eat now!" or "actually, I could go for a slice of cake. Where's the nearest bakery?" Let's not be stifled by the thought of it not making any sense, let's lean into the weird and different so that we can draw attention to all the great shops in the area. That's local tourism dollars hard at work.

I tend to agree. Art doesn't need to take itself seriously.

It is apparent that many on this site do not know the point of art. Art is meant to create conversation/discourse, draw others to said art, etc. Art isn't meant to make everyone happy and to be universally liked.

Oak did this with their art installations. The cowboy gets so much attention right now when people visit the shopping center. They take photos and once the ice rink is gone the other cloud art installation will get tons of people interacting with it.

I think OKC is actually a great example of art. We have so many great local artists in all mediums. It makes me happy to see stuff like this!

As a fan of whimsy, public art, and pie I like this. I don't really like the location. It is totally inaccessible to pedestrians who otherwise might interact with it/take photos with it, etc.

And of course in this spot it will be hit by a car every 14 months or so.
