I was driving on 2nd street tonight and noticed the former Bennigan's is being converted into the metro's second Old Chicago.

I wasn't hugely impressed with the one in Midwest City, but it's better than an empty building, I say.

Aw, I like Bennigans. Although I have to say that the last one I was in is looking a little ragged.

I need to go to Old Chicago and try it. I know people haven't been too happy with the one in MWC, but I'm not convinved yet they were overshooting their expectations. It is a chain afterall, so it's going to be just like MWC.

And if service was your gripe (and it has been for a lot of people) maybe you should wait a few months to test it so they can get settled in. I know the MWC location is flowing better now...one of my students works there.

Went for happy hour (in MWC) and was definitely impressed with the pizza and the beer selection...Had nearly 30 beers on tap with a good variety of styles

Got a classic thin crust pizza that was excellent...Three of us split it ($14.99 I believe)....Buddy got a calzone that he said was better than Belle Isle Brewery's, which makes a great one

Our waiter in the bar was very good...Always there for a refill when the brews got low and all 5 of our separate checks were correct after 4 hours of drinks...Pretty good service for a packed friday night crowd

I don't really think about and compare pizza places so I will just say I was really impressed with the place and hope they open one closer to Moore...Think it will do very well in Edmond

Service wasn't my gripe and most others if you read the Old Chicago reviews in the Food Court. It's the food that is not impressive. Classic Thin Crust (that screams NYC, not Chicago). Us that we're complaining, we're complaining that they don't have good Chicago style pizza, if you can even call it that. You think a place with Old Chicago in the name would live up to its' namesake.

Aw, I like Bennigans.

The Bennigans has been gone for a while. At least a year.

Is this the same Old Chicago as they have in Lincoln Nebraska?

I would assume so since it is a national chain

Oh GAWD the Smell!

I love Old Chicago...But not really for the food (their calzones are usually pretty good)...To my knowledge, only Tapwerks has them beat on beer selection. THAT is why I make the trek to the one by Tinker.

Not yet, but I'm waiting patiently especially after reading about a 30 beer draw selection!

I have heard that the Pizza is not that great (in midwest city) and since it is a chain I would assume that the Pizza at the Edmond location would be similar.

You don't go to Old Chicago for thier pizza. (well, no one I know ever did anyway) They are well known for thier Beer Tours and calzones. They also have the very best Spinach Artichoke Dip that I have ever had- anywhere. Before we moved to Oklahoma (from Denver) we would go often just for appetizers and drinks.

I've eaten at both the one in Edmond and MWC and thought the pizza rivaled hideaway, personally. I didn't try the thin crust but the chicago style crust is great.

i've been twice, on a weekday and weekend during the pizza bar (w/salad and a cookie for $7.79). to me, the thin crust is as good, if not better than Hideaway - the toppings are varied on the buffet, and they also offer stromboli and breadsticks, but the ham/pineapple is fantastic and the crust is very tasty... the other style isn't a true Chicago-style, it's just a thick crust pizza. To me, Chicago-style (and i've had plenty in Chicago) is more like a pie, with lots of cheese and topping on a thin crust, and Old Chicago's isn't like that. i asked a waiter about that, and he said they offer that style on the west coast, but not here. Pretty good pizza, but don't go expecting true Chicago-style...

We went to the location in edmond a few weeks ago for the second time. We had kinda bad service and ordered 2 pizza's, one of which didn't get there til we finished the other one and one didn't even look like it was what we ordered. We were kinda embarassed because we had company in from out of town and we took them there. We grabbed the manager and just mentioned it to him, not really being tacky to him, just saying we thought we didn't get the right pizza and such. He went all out, apologized profusely and wanted to do whatever he could to make it better. He ended up sending us out the door after paying for our meal and feeding us all dessert.

Stinks that we had a little problem but the manager was super cool about it.

This experience is similar to one of my own. We've been several times now (It's actually one of my favorite places in Edmond now) and only had a bad experience once. My wife wrote in about it on their website, and within 3 days we had signed gift cards from the Edmond store manager to come back and give them another chance.

I really like Old Chicago... for the pizza even! I just ate at Falcone's tonight and Old Chicago is way better.

Yeah I like their pizza too...thats why I was so embarrassed when we took family there from out of town and had bad service. I haven't been back since then, but I probably will eventually.

Old Chicago is pretty good. I've had a few service quirks there myself, but they have good people working there, and if you learn who those are, just request them, and you'll be OK. I also know that their management there is working VERY HARD to deliver food on time, and meet all their guests' expectations. This is why when I want a Sunday night pizza for dinner, I go to Old Chicago.

It seems to me that the service issue is a problem everywhere anymore...seems that lot of people that work restaurants (especially fast food) are just not motivated to give any decent kind of service...
