Not to mention Ross Dixon on the weather...Gerry Ross as one of the anchors...

Man, how many old-time news anchors can you remember....how about Ernie Schultz (WKY-TV 4), Lola Hall (KWTV-9 Weathergirl and co-host of "newsy" talk show called "The Early Beat" in the 70's...a guy named Tom Mahoney from Wisconsin was the meteorologist...Bill Hare did the livestock report...a guy named Wayne Liles sometimes subbed), Dave Gilbert (5 Alive News Center with Jane Jayroe in the late 70's/early 80's)...

Let's see..Jerry Adams' fall was well chronicled....as was Jack Bowen's...,how about the first Eyewitness News 5 with Dean Swanson, Fred Norman (weather) and Jerry Park (sports).....Patti Suarez at Ch 9, the old "someone and Hickock (sp) Report" on Ch 5 (preceding the first Eyewitness News era there)

Man, I spent too much time watching TV :)

It will be cool to see Angela again, glad you told us. I might never have stumbled upon it otherwise. I guess that's a better time period for her, so she can have the best of both worlds, staying at home a lot, but still getting a paycheck.

Wow, talk about going down memory lane. I remember when I was 16 years old (about 30 years ago), and I worked at Grider's Foods. Dean Swanson and his family came through my check out stand.

I still think what happened to Jerry Adams and Jack Bowen was sad. Two of the best news anchors, and they take a fall. Kind of like Randy Renner, when he was arrested at Trosper Park many years ago. At the time, he was a reporter for News9. After the arrest, he left the station.

Randy Renner left the state after that, but he came back a few years ago and was working as a reporter at OETA, but he was fired last fall because it came out that he had child porn on his computer.

I believe Renner is now doing local news on KOKC radio.

We're talking about the PBS "Oklahoma News Report" right? I love that newscast, it's always so professional. I'll have to tune in.

I've watched it twice. It's great to Angela again. I believe that's 6:30pm.

It has tough competition: KFOR, E.T., and Friends re-runs. I do like it though because they don't have to go through all the theatrics that our other stations do. I bet Angela loves the lower-pressure environment. Probably feels like a cake-walk to her.

I caught a minute of OETA on Feb 13th, and lo and behold, I believe I saw Quin Tran (former KFOR reporter) doing some anchoring?! How many others are on this show that I don't know about?

I was also struck by the elegant clarity of the weather graphics. No theatrics, just good old-fashioned data. OMG, what a concept! No computer furniture taking up 30% of the screen, no weatherman hogging the shot, just data.

It amazes me at how many of the former news anchors from the other stations have migrated to OETA. They left the fast paced life of the other stations, and are now enjoying the slow pace at OETA. I think it's great.

I actually Googled OETA to see if I could find out who all of their anchors and reporters were, but I could not find anything.

I agree with drumsncode, it is great to see Angela back in the newscast! She's too good not to be seen anymore on television, hopefully doing the T & R slot she can still stay with the boys most of the time and have a part-time job to stay in the know! It seems like oeta would be a low stress position for her, hopefully she enjoys it.

Just found a new web page on their site. Even this is not quite up to date, but it's better than what they had

OETA - The Oklahoma Network | About the Oklahoma News Report (http://www.oeta.onenet.net/news/about.html)

Angela's bio pic is much nicer than anything you'd see on NewsOK.com, imagine that! It also reminds me that KWTV lost a great anchor in Angela.

OETA is actually showcasing their people in a nice way. Too cool.
