Does anyone remember the old Taco John's in Edmond on Kelly near 2nd? I loved that place. Obviously it went under several years ago and it wasn't open too long. Anyone know what the reasoning was for them leaving the OKC market? I know the location isn't the greatest but you'd think they'd just move to a better one. There are no locations in Oklahoma now.
Welcome to Taco Johns (http://www.tacojohns.com)
Sure would like to see them come back.

They are still going strong in KS. I think they are better than taco bell.

yeah they are much better than taco bell, and offer their own unique flavor.
bandnerd, I don't think that article applies to the location that was in Edmond, it closed about 4 years ago. That article was from last month!

I was reminded of Taco John's the other day when I saw one on post when we were visiting my wife's father at Ft. Hood. I always assumed that the one in Edmond closed because it was awful. I ate there a few times and decided that it would last about as long as it took for half the town to eat there and tell the other half not to eat there.
That is just one man's opnion. That is the glory of the world... I can hate what another man loves and nobody is right or wrong.
Also, I don't think any restaurant has survived that location. I

I hated it - I remember reading an info card - said something along the lines of "Taco Johns, founded in Minnesota where they KNOW Mexican food" BLECH!
Also, knew someone who went there one time - got a sack full of tacos and was walking out the door to his car, the tacos fell through because the back was so soaked with grease from them. He got in his car and drove off and never came back.

Like it, don't like it... it's all relative and personal preference, right? But not really... because I don't think I EVER saw more than one car parked at that place at a time.
I remember that I didn't care for it.

I don't remember the funeral home being built until AFTER they went under?

Maybe so...I don't recall for certain...I know the people who own the funeral home...nice folks....
However, if the funeral home was built after taco johns, it is worth it to mention that the other 2 or so businesses that have been in that building have "died" also
