View Full Version : FOX25 gets a new anchor
drumsncode 09-24-2006, 08:01 AM They started teasing it Saturday night. Of course, they wouldn't say who it is, but their website (gotta love those IT guys who actually get their work done early) slightly gives them away.
It's probably going to be Jamie Cerreta. I'd like to be able to jump for joy at a fantastic new anchor, but I have no idea who this person is, and I couldn't find anything conclusive on the Internet.
We'll just all have to tune in Monday, September 25, at 9pm.
Intrepid 09-24-2006, 08:04 AM Fox News at 9 is still around???

Midtowner 09-24-2006, 02:39 PM And they will continue to be the worst newscast on TV.
drumsncode 09-24-2006, 07:14 PM Midtowner, I'm open for elaboration on that point.
Midtowner 09-24-2006, 08:51 PM You work for Fox?
Sure, okay, where to begin? They are at the bottom in ratings, they are #1 for presenting corporate video press releases as "news," they don't seem to invest in equipment which is as good as other local stations, they don't have a local weather cast (it comes from a national facility, so the weather is not even close to competitive in a market where the weather cast is determinative on ratings, and they're simply not competitive for this market. It's as if the station owners want to do the bare minimum to make the network happy.
That elaborate enough?

KOKH no longer originates the weather reports from Baltimore. They are back to an in studio report. Same for the sports report.
The only reports that come from Baltimore are the editorials and some national headlines.

Yup, that is correct. Fox 25 has their own local weather and sports folks again. Anyone notice Brent Scarky (sp??) back at Fox 25?

My bad. Shows you how long it's been since I watched it. How does Fox's weather coverage compare?
I don't really care about the guy reading the prompter -- I'm more interested in the equipment they use.

This is your night to tune in and get caught up. Lots of changes since you watched last, by my estimate, you may have missed all summer.
Besides, you really need to evaluate the new anchor's equipment. ;-) We can write our scathing reviews tomorrow. See ya then.
Midtowner 09-25-2006, 03:13 PM My last evening class lets out at 9PM. I don't get home from studying 'til sometime after 1AM depending on my stamina and how much there is to do.

How young you really are.

How old you must be??

drumsncode 09-26-2006, 09:00 AM Well, it's "Jaime Cerreta" as the website now shows, along with her bio. Computer programmers are notoriously bad spellers, believe me. They originally had it wrong.
Now we know the details of this mysterious new anchor. The first broadcast was, in a word, "uneventful", which is okay I guess for a debut.
I'll give her time to win me over.
Those weather segues last night were such a stretch though! Something about opening up a box of good weather! Where's Tina Fey when you need her?

Did anyone else watch FOX 25 News last night? Jaime Cerreta, the new anchor at FOX 25, made new OKC debut. Her bio says she comes to OKC from Beaumont, TX, where for about 4 years she was the morning anchor, a reporter and the fill-in evening anchor. She also worked a couple of years in Springfield, MO at the ABC affiliate and where she was co-host of a weekly radio show. Cerreta started out in Scottsdale, AZ, where she worked in both television news and radio news. Her family owns the Cerreta candy factory in Phoenix, AZ. (That being the case, I like her already.)
If you missed last night’s broadcast on FOX 25, you can view her talent tape at: http://www.talentapes.com/jaimecerreta/
drumsncode 09-27-2006, 07:37 AM Jaime did a very nice job on her second night. The difference was noticeable. She looked nicer, she seemed more relaxed, (as I'm sure she was) and it came across as a warmer broadcast.
I'll be curious to see how FOX does against KAUT at 9pm during November sweeps.
boomer81 10-04-2006, 11:46 AM I can see that FOX25 does not have the best equipment, but they certainly have a great looking team of anchors with Jaime Cerreta, Scott Padgett, and Brent Skarky. Probably the best looking team in the market and I like their 9 PM time slot.
