View Full Version : Bricktown Central Plaza Hotel & Convention Center.... BricktownGuy 08-11-2006, 02:23 PM The Bricktown Central Plaza Hotel & Convention Center at 2001 East Reno has been for sale for sometime now. Its going for $3,500,000. The lot is 5.75 Acres. 190 rooms. any takers? metro 08-11-2006, 02:49 PM No. The owners of it need to take "Bricktown" out of it's name. It is not located in Bricktown proper and are trying to make a quick buck. Perhaps if they would market it more ethically they would see better results. BricktownGuy 08-11-2006, 03:00 PM hence the reason I listed this under the OKC Metro area talk and not under Bricktown. :) metro 08-11-2006, 03:01 PM I agree, but doesn't the name use "Bricktown" in the official name of the hotel. Are you the owner Bricktown Guy? BricktownGuy 08-11-2006, 03:31 PM Yes, they do the use "Bricktown" in the official title. Official title: Bricktown Central Plaza Hotel & Convention Center No no, I am the not owner. IF I was, I would have found a better property to buy and also took "bricktown" out of the name. Its misleading. Nope, I am not trying to use OKCTalk as a way to sell, cause I am NOT the owner. BricktownGuy 08-11-2006, 03:51 PM Owned by M O S INVESTMENT PROPERTIES from WICHITA, KS. Easy180 08-11-2006, 04:27 PM a little off topic...but does anyone know what's the story on the hotel that was torn down and rebuilt right next to the other "fake" Bricktown hotel (Bricktown Guest Suites I think) on I35...why on earth would anyone build a hotel there w/o a buyer lined up Just wondering BricktownGuy 08-11-2006, 06:43 PM I have been in London since late february, so I do not know the latest on that new building. But, haven't they been working on that newer building for a few years now?? The torn down building (according to Easy180) was change to QUALITY SUITES. The new building suppose to be HOLIDAY INN EXPRESS. Looks like by the same owner, if I am right. okcpulse 08-11-2006, 07:08 PM If I had $$$, I would buy up both sides of Reno from I-235 to I-35, rip everything out of that area and redevelop my cleared out property into something more appealing and cosmopolitan. OklaCity_75 08-11-2006, 08:15 PM If I had $$$ I tell you what I would do.... I would go downtown and buy a Mercury or two. Easy180 08-11-2006, 09:44 PM bricktownguy...drove by tonite and it still shows For Sale and its around SE 40th....directly south of the bricktwon guest suites....don't know why I care, but it has bothered me as to why someone would build a new hotel w/o a buyer already lined up...especially in that area OklaCity_75 08-11-2006, 11:24 PM Worst-case scenario is they could always turn it into a residential hotel. That is what all the hotels and motels in the area between 51st and 15th have become. The Southgate was going to be a halfway house. Now I think it is vacant. BricktownGuy 08-12-2006, 05:27 AM Here is the location I think you are referring to: http://travel.yahoo.com/p-hotel-379749-guesthouse_intl_suites-i;_ylc=X3oDMTE3N2phcW1vBF9TAzI3NjY2NzkEX3MDOTY5NTU zMjUEc2VjA3NyBHNsawN0aXRsZQ-- The sale sign may have been put up by the FIRST ENTERPRISE BANK. They are listed as the owners of the property. BricktownGuy 08-12-2006, 05:29 AM We are side tracking the main topic thread, but... Southgate was to turn into a rehab center I believe for drug abuse, especially. Patrick 08-12-2006, 04:46 PM First Enterprise took control of the property after previous owners let the property go back to the bank after it was demolished in the May 3rd tornado. The hotel was rebuilt, and the bank is trying to recoup on their investment. Easy180 08-12-2006, 05:57 PM appreciate it patrick...thought it was demolished after the tornado...good luck selling that thing |
