View Full Version : Interested in the Skirvin Tour?
Patrick 06-06-2006, 04:04 PM Please vote in the poll above to let me know if you'd be interested in attending a tour of the Skirvin Hotel, in early July. The tour would most likely be in the morning hours or early afternoon. If the answer is maybe, check NO! :) I've discovered that 100% of maybes never show up!

okcpulse 06-07-2006, 02:34 PM Darn it, I will miss the Skirvin tour. Perhaps a move back to Oklahoma City is in order? Well, only if I had a high-paying job (that would entice my wife) and $$$. Moving was expensive, in the nieghborhood of $2,000, not including Texas vehicle conversions which totaled $500. Next time, though, I'm hiring movers.
Enjoy the Skirvin Tour. I can't wait to be back on Oklahoma soil on June 21st!
mranderson 06-07-2006, 04:57 PM I will go under two conditions. One, it is on my day off, and two I get some face time and some mention in the Oklahoman. (lol, but true)

Yet?
CCOKC 04-18-2007, 01:41 PM My husband and I stayed there Monday night and it was spectacular. They upgraded us to a suite. (Don't know why). Still would love to go on the tour and get a look at the whole hotel.

It's something else isn't it? You could very easily believe you're in one of the old classic hotels in Manhattan.

jbrown84 04-18-2007, 01:54 PM There's something about the lobby that just feels very unique. It's kind of European, but not.
CCOKC 04-18-2007, 01:55 PM I agree. I have stayed in the Plaza in NYC and the suite at the Skirvin is every bit as nice.

I SAIDDDDDDD take some pictures of the rooms if anyone stays there dangett!
CMSturgeon 04-19-2007, 08:22 AM I know someone, no names, but it wasnt me of course. Who went into the Skirvin a couple of times while it was closed. They said it was pretty scary, but really awesome seeing history untouched. Oh yeah, I would also like to share a rumor that I heard about the Skirvin..........
"The owner had a mistress and when she got pregnant he jumped out of the 13th story window and then she hung hersef in a room on the 13th floor. Now they wont let anyone stay there because it's haunted, blah blah blah."
Sounds like the movie coming out July 13th called 1408. I saw the trailer for that when I went to see Grindhouse and I have to admit, it looks like it might be the scariest movie I will ever see. So I cant FREAKIN wait to see it.
Oh, and if the Skirvin Tour is around July 9th everone can just go ahead and bring my bday presents with them to the tour.
kevinpate 04-19-2007, 03:00 PM Lay down adequate lead time so I can free the day and I'm all in.

So sorry. I left my camera at my house in Boise. I really was not expecting the room to be so great and I regretted leaving my camera behind the moment I walked into the room.
