I ate at this timeless downtown icon yesterday for lunch with a colleague. As usual I had the Reuben. They give you the choice of either thousand island or mustard. Of course, I choose both. The sandwich is piled high with 4 thick slices of swiss cheese, fresh corned beef, sour kraut, and in my case thousand island dressing and mustard all on a marble rye. Delicious! The best reuben I ever had. I also had to top it off with their famous homemade pies. I choose the chocolate. Delicious again.
If you haven't eaten at this longtime downtown lunch spot, I highly recommend it. A 10 out of 10. They are famous for down home cooking. This is the 2nd time I've eaten there and it won't be my last. And just FYI, if you mention it's your first time there, a slice of pie is on the house.
