Finally, maybe we're getting something accomplished here. For years now, we've been trying to change the image of our city held my locals.

Oklahoma City ranks above the national average in quality of City services in a survey of citizen satisfaction released by City Manager Jim Couch.

An impressive 83% of citizens answering the survey were 'satisfied' or 'very satisfied' with public safety services (http://www.okc.gov/safety/index.html) – a Council priority which currently receives 55% of the City's General Fund revenue.
Seventy-two percent of those responding said they were 'satisfied' or 'very satisfied' with City utilities, including water (http://www.okc.gov/water/index.html) and trash pickup (http://www.okc.gov/trash/index.html).
The survey also ranked Oklahoma City above the national average as a place to live, a place to raise children and as a place to work.
Citizens were least satisfied with maintenance of City streets, where 54% of those responding were dissatisfied, and only about 20% were satisfied. Citizens also said maintenance of City streets should be a top priority over the next two years.
The survey – the first of its kind since 1987 – was conducted by ETC Institute of Olathe, Kansas in November and December 2005. The results were presented to City Council during a budget workshop on January 24, 2006.
