Seems like a lot of people on this forum had big mouths about OKC getting a major league team. So I want to know....how many of you have been to a Hornets game? If you haven't been to a game, why not? Feel free to reply.

I haven't been to a game yet, but I have tickets to games on March 23rd and April 14th. So far that's all I've been able to get my hands on. I'm looking forward to experiencing all the excitement that Doug and Karrie have been talking about. I'll be looking out for tikets around the Spring Break time as well. Looking for tickets for March 10th and 12th. Ticketmaster doesn't have anything left. I'll be checking Ebay, I suppose.

Haven't been myself. No real reason other than my lack of interest in the NBA in general. I probably should try to make it to a game just for the experience though.

Before the Hornets arrived, I had zero interest in the NBA - it took me one game,
the Pre-season and then the Opening Night sealed the deal! I was smitten and have been to every game I can buy/scrounge tickets to .. when I'm not at the game I watch it on Cox, when I can't get it on Cox, I go to Wild Bills Buffalo Wings.. so if I got into it as much as I did, and I don't even like sports, you two will absolutely love it...

I hope you do - it is so fun and exciting - you have to get into it - shout along and cheer the Hornets..

I can' t wait to hear how you like it!

I have not been; in all my years since adulthood, I cannot remember any sporting event I have watched in its entirety of one game, and I have no desire to ever do it----One of my concerns is that I might get hooked like Karrie did, and it will cut into my time for the things I now love to do.

This OKCTalk is cutting into my time more than I ever wanted anything to.

I've been to two games. If my schedule allowed, I'd be at a lot more. I love going to the games. It's a blast.

What do you think the Hornets are, a casino or something? lol! Sometimes you just have to get out and live life a little. Go enjoy a Hornets game for a night.

Was there at the game where the Hornets beat the Spurs, it was AWSOME. Which reminds me, I need to check on tickets for the tenth.

Better hurry. I know TicketMaster doesn't have much left. At least for 2 seats together.

I've been to four so far, once on the floor. I have tickets to four more right now. Hopefully, I'll have time and tickets to go to more than that.

I would love to go tonight just to bring a sign for Birdman -

I'm sitting in uppers for the Bulls, Lakers, Knicks and Cavaliers.. but at least I get to go and I heard it was really fun in the uppers.. Loud City! Can't wait ...

Anything else upcoming, I'll have to see if I can get tickets..

I think I've gone to nine games - loved them all - even when we lost, it was amazing fun.
When I don't go, I watch them on TV or go to Wild Bill's Buffalo Wings..

Man, maybe I shouldn't go to my first game in March! Will I be creating an addiction.

I sure hope so! LOL!

Have you been to a Hornets "GAME"?

No. But, I have been to 13 Hornets "EVENTS"!

It's not JUST the game ... it's all the trappings, the whole city and all its parts and people coming together to focus on one single thing and lovin' every minute of it as one great city! Like Karrie, I'd never been an NBA fan ... until the 1st preseason game. Now, like Karrie, I can't get enough of it!

Of course, if you are REALLY concerned about changing a part of your life's order, IT REALLY BEST THAT YOU NOT GO! But, if you do go, be aware that you are taking such a risk because the chances are very very good that that will happen.

If you want to have a vicarious look, here are some pics I've posted so far, together with a set from a game I could not go to, gratiously supplied by TStheThird (the teriffic Pistons game, which we lost): http://www.dougloudenback.com/hornets/HornetsPics.htm

See my last post, Oki_Man5! Probably best that you take care of that roof, 'cause this is like falling in love for the 1st time! You might not get back to that roof! :tiphat:

DOUG! I hope your sign tonight says WE LOVE BYRON SCOTT! Represent Doug!!

From HR:

"when announced as the coach of the hornets after the starters are introduced at the pregame intro of the starters, want him to hear the boos, hopefully it may register to him that we love our team and want them back, but do not want him back here as the coach, not only due to his stupid, insensitive comments, all this started with his very revealing comment about the suns game when he blamed the loss on the crowd, lost on a lot of scott lovers on this board, but very revealing on him as a coach and a person, hey knucklehead, shut up and coach, you win games on the road without any crowd support, but lost on him and a lot of supporters that cp3 and dwest has made him look like a "good coach" just like kidd did at NJ, good players can make a mediocre coach look good, just look at phil jackson, just a baby sitter with rings as the talent he had, all he needed to do was get out of the way and let the incredible talent he inherited "coach" the team on the floor

oh yeah, wait till JR gets traded to a team with a coach who knows how to use his extrodinary talents, wiil make scott look like the idiot he is"

Is their an addiction line listed on the bottom of Hornets tickets? Last time I was at Lucky Star I noticed there's a gambling hotline for problem gamblers. Maybe we need a line for those addicted to Hornets. I may need to make use of it! lol!

Same comments as above, Patrick. However, remember the old old movie ... nah, how could you since it was made before you were born (1954) ... Rock Hudson, Jane Wyatt, Barbara Rush, Agnes Moorehead, et al. Instead of calling the Hornets in OKC "an addiction", I prefer to call it, "A MAGNIFICENT OBSESSION"!

For the movie version, see http://movies2.nytimes.com/gst/movies/movie.html?v_id=30853

No, I couldn't/didn't find the time to make a sign. Me bad.

But, with what I understand is a Monday night sellout (and for those who don't know, but for a very few cities which have sellouts EVERY home game, and there are only 5 ... Detroit, Dallas, Miami, San Antonio, and Sacramento ... Monday night games are almost never sellouts), I'm pretty sure that Coach Scott will get the point on this Monday night which will be (I hope) the 11th sellout (or higher ... we've had 6 SROs which exceeded capacity) in 19 OKC games.

I can't wait for him to run through the pillars of fire when the starters and he is introduced. THE FANS WILL GO WILD!

I hope that doctors will be standing by.

Do you think?

Oddly, with these old bronchial pipes of mine (gotta quit smoking one of these days), when I've been to OSU football games (yes, I go sometimes) in the past few years, and I'd start yelling my voice box out, I'd start coughing and not be able to yell for awhile.

BUT, in the HORNETS games, that problem somehow seems to have gone away ... I want to out-yell the guy/gal next to me ... AND I CAN ... it's a medical marvel!

Uh, oh! It's almost time to go!
