Hello Everyone,<O:p</O:p
<O:p</O:p
Some of you may have noticed that some links to your favorite threads are now being re-directed to our homepage. I am streamlining the forum code for better SEO results (Search Engine Optimization). To accomplish this the dynamic URL's created will now be re-written into static URL's. Search engines prefer more descriptive static URL's.

OLD STYLE FORUM LINK

NEW STYLE
http://www.okctalk.com/community-center/ (http://www.okctalk.com/community-center/)<O:p</O:p
<O:p</O:p
As you can see it is much easier for the static html link to be indexed and more descriptive for search engine results.<O:p</O:p
<O:p</O:p
This same method also applies to specific threads.<O:p</O:p

The downside to all this is Google, MSN and Yahoo already have thousands of our pages indexed using the old style links. Until I can figure out the correct htaccess rewrite rules these broken links will be re-directed to our homepage. In the short term we will actually lose pages that are indexed in the search engines. However, once the new pages are re-indexed our overall search engine ranking AND the total number of pages indexed should dramatically improve.<O:p</O:p
<O:p</O:p
Is everyone completely confused yet?<O:p</O:p
I've got more if you want it....LOL
