I know it's literally the last 2 snapshots on the GFS, but it looks like an early spring pattern is trying to show up in early march. Dewpoints aren't great, but you're starting to see the possibility of some southwesterly flow again. Hopefully it holds! I'm ready for some warmer temps!

And here we are again. Thursday 4 1/2 days out and local media is already starting too put out snow fall totals. We never learn do we. Oh course they say this could change. Yeah you think SMH

Something to remember. Cold air is dry air.

It's the dramatization of the weather by our local market! It really is crazy. It's all about click bait and views -- tune into my LATEST FORECAST as I'm eying disruptive winter weather headed our way!

Snowfall amounts will likely be modest, but the strength of the cold snap is no joke. Wind chill values will probably be in the negative teens overnight Tuesday.

Yes, extremely low windchills and some dry blowing snow. Meaningful snow accumulations look most likely across NE OK.

Maybe a brief period of moderate to heavy snow Saturday night with wrap-around action on the back of the low. Nothing significant except temporary reduced visibility.

Some of us are interested in what to expect for the upcoming $&%#show because it disrupts our way of life. Oklahoma does not handle this stuff very well.

And the forecasts have been accurate as much as I wish it wasn't. I am expecting next Tuesday to be terrible.

Probably a bit of both. 1 inch of snow but with temps so cold side streets won't be any better until about Thursday. The Sun will do some damage but maybe not much.

So OKC is dry this morning and the radar show almost a "circle" of precip *around* the metro. Is this going to fill in or are we being dry-slotted?

Freezing drizzle in OKC will continue to pick up. Then a brief shot of snow later this afternoon and the system moves out.

Streets in Stillwater very slick from just a light coating of freezing drizzle and light snow as of 9:30 am. It will be interesting to see if conditions change to moderate to heavy snow later this afternoon. NWS says 2 to 4 inches possible this afternoon for Stillwater with an additional inch possible tonight.

Classes have been canceled for Tuesday and Wednesday at OSU-Stillwater and OSU-Tulsa campuses.

KFOR has an inch. Payne said 1/2 to 1 inch in the metro. My back yard by the outlet mall .3 I feel left out or is the media really trying to spin it again. :) Anyone have an inch at 4pm? Even their trackers I don't see an inch anywhere.

Ha! I always get a chuckle out of almost each time it snows the local media messaging generally uses the same words: "slick and hazardous, bridges and overpasses, roads are deteriorating , cut to the story about Ace Hardware running out of salt and snow shovels. Now lets go to a tracker who is driving around in all the mess. "

I'm in NOKC and were I am probably got 1/2-1 inch of snow for what it's worth. Next week is looking very nice to me! February can be so cold around here.

An inch was the average for the metro. Looking at storm reports observers reports anywhere from 1/2 inch to 1 inch. Far cry from the 2-4 that some of the tv stations were showing with their snowfall maps on Friday. One station came much closer than others. They will never learn will they. They say it's not click bait but we all know it is. https://x.com/iembot_oun/status/1892281430266564639/photo/1 Wasn't Ponca City In the 6-10 range? SMH

It so fun to go back and look at Morgan's Post. 2-4 inches for the Metro Ponca City 6 inches Drifts 2 to 3 feet. Yeah swing and a mess. I'll give him credit though he does try to swing for the fence and if it would of been bad he would of been right

A storm tracker for KWTV said he thought it snowed more in Stillwater than in Tonkawa. That town is not too far from Ponca City. In Stillwater, the Tuesday storm was worse on the streets than the previous snowstorm of several inches, since there was more ice than snow. Consequently, trash trucks didn't run in Stillwater. USPS and UPS couldn't make some deliveries. Surely the same can be said of other towns.

I hope this is the final record-breaking cold spell for the winter. Hopefully, March won't freak out, too, though on at one long ago occasion I remember the low during the first half of March got down to 9.

OSU has canceled classes Thursday.

Most of the state should be above-freezing for the first time since Tuesday by this time tomorrow. Then won't go back below-freezing for at least the next week with highs in upper 60's and low 70's.

There is another storm system that will move through around 3/1 that right now looks like rain. Let's hope we get some big rains in March.
