I’m legitimately disappointed that I won’t have the option to risk violent YOLO diarrhea to try one. Based on the smell, the risk would’ve been worth the reward lol (at least in the moment).

If you saved one from food poisoning / E. coli, HUS, or other gastroenteritis then this thread was worth it.

Helping protect people from things that can be prevented isn't cool on internet threads, but it sure is cool to the people it protects.

My rule of thumb is, the drunker you are the better the hot dogs taste.

Oh Jesus Christ, man. If you’re that concerned about it then just don’t buy one. This is one of my main reasons I don’t like Oklahoma that much is everybody is so nosy is in other people‘s business. Just let people sell the damn hot dogs outside of stadiums without the health department up their ass. No one saying we need to shut down the health department and allow every restaurant to operate with impunity. We’re talking about a hotdog stand. This is common across the country, let alone the world. I swear Oklahoma has the most small town mentality I’ve seen anywhere.

If any of you here attend the next few Thunder home games and seek out this particular "street de' cuisine chef", could you snap a pic and post it on this thread so that we know who to look for? You can put that blue dot over his face to protect his anonymity. 19438

I just want to know what he's doing that has so many enthralled. I love hot dogs and this city is a 2/10 hot dog town.

I don't want to start a "hot dog rumble" here but since Callahan's and Doggystyle aren't on the radar any longer (please correct me if I'm wrong and point my questionable palette in their direction), I would love to give these guys some business) my go to is the Chicago Dog at Fassler Hall. It's grilled and it never disappoints.

This is an uninformed statement. All major cities regulate food vendors/street vendors. The small town mentality is that there should be no regulations or safety protections.

Not really because it works pretty well in Los Angeles. If you don’t feel safe or comfortable eating it then don’t eat there. The county health department is pretty strict on restaurants. They are a little bit more lax on a lot of the Mexican people who primarily are the ones that operate and sell food from these carts. Mostly they are hotdogs and Mexican street corn. And I’m here to tell you you are taking a risk by eating one but damn they are good after a game. Most of the time if I get one it’s because I’m working at the game for whatever job I can get. And I’ve worked for them as well. No vending license or inspections or anything. It’s a little sketchy, but it works. Only time I’ve ever gotten sick for eating a hot dog was at the Chinese Theatre.

I’m not trying to diss anyone here, but it’s just very interesting to see this thread on OKCTalk. When I lived in Oklahoma City, I never really noticed street vendors that often. But the more I travel the more it just became normal and I never really thought about it much. My personal opinion when it comes to this is eat at your own risk. It’s just like going in the Hong Kong in Tijuana.

Hmmmm. I wonder if he was adding 3 1/2% to his credit card or debit card transactions. You probably wouldn't have made it home if you had got one.

lol. If someone is selling street meat without permits at a high profile, heavily trafficked event in a city center, no one has to turn them in.
