This is a great new little bar next to Harvey Bakery. It is brought to you by the People that did Palo Santo. We tried it last night for dinner because we needed a strong drink. It is a simple, small, but cozy spot.

Food and drinks were amazing. Their New Orleans sammy was on point.

very nice writeup from the Oklahoman: https://www.oklahoman.com/story/lifestyle/food/2024/12/06/later-bye-okc-menu-opens-in-midtown-near-harvey-bakery/76801984007/

lovely to see Oklahoman reporter JaNae Williams (https://www.oklahoman.com/staff/7286932002/janae-williams/) give credit to OKCTalk.com for a review of the restaurant. She's very classy and I don't think Pete or the OKCTalk poster would mind at all.

I have been twice and it is our go to bar now. The vibe is laid back and the service and food are amazing!

Went for cocktails on New Year's Eve. One thing that I don't think enough people talk about is a location that seems to attract those that are in the industry. Every time I have been to Later Bye there has been Bartenders from other great bars. There has been restaurant group owners. There have been local developers. This is shaping up to be your favorite bartenders favorite bar.

Same deal for Palo Santo (Their first bar). Great operators and both are great bars.

Exactly. They have really set the bar high. The quality of the cocktails is so good!

Brian (owner) is from Southern Cal where he managed several great bars, including The Brig in Venice where I used to go on occasion, although I didn't know him then. It's been a really popular place for decades amid literally thousands of bars in the L.A. area.

One of the nicest guys you'll ever meet and he really knows what he is doing. Palo Santo opened just before the pandemic, and after weathering that nightmare, it's now hard to get into that relatively big space on weekend nights.

Brian and his father-in-law did all the work on both places.

Just goes to show that even with the intense competition there is always room for new well-run bars and restaurants.

So many bars come and go -- and restaurants. These folks just get it. They are the best independent operators in OKC right now, and it's not close.

As Pete mentioned, they are not only great at food and cocktails, they are also just great people in general. Brian is truly one of the nicest people in this city and he's a damn culinary wizard.

They opened this concept and it's almost effortless for them to elevate what they're doing at Palo Santo to appeal to a different crowd without being silly, pretentious, or overpriced.. Love the tapas concept, something no one has ever gotten right in OKC (sorry, Riserva).

It may sound cheesy to say but we are lucky to have them in OKC. If you doubt me, just go to Palo Santo and order the salsa and guac and get back to me on what you think is better in this entire city with dozens of authentic Mexican joints. If you find yourself at Later, Bye, which hopefully you will, soon, check out the house salad. So simple: a pile of wonderful arugula, sliced Marcona almonds, and a subtle but interesting vinaigrette, topped with a gloriously fluffy head of some parm-adjacent cheese.

The burrata bocadillo is so good it's sick.

I agree with almost everything you have said, but Riserva has been the go to place for multiple friend groups to get great Tapas service. Now with Vecina we will have even more options.

I would still put Later Bye as my favorite spot from last year and I am already planning on taking more friends this weekend. It really is the best new spot in OKC!

Some other highlights from the menu...the 'Nduja and the New Orleans Bocadillo. The food is so good here it's worth going even if you don't drink. And they are very knowledgable on mocktails, too.
