Now this was a little over 40 years ago, so my memory might be a bit hazy on this one. Living in Edmond in the early '80's, a trip down to Norman for dinner was a pretty long haul. If I recall correctly, the place that we went was east of Campus Corner, an old, converted home that served Tex-Mex named "Crosby's". Does any of this sound correct? I couldn't find any information on it. I definitely remember happily driving down to Border Crossing on Main Street, that was such a cool building.
I found a reference to Crosby's at 423 S. Webser (between Main and Campus Corner) from 1985.
It was right across from the Service Station; both places operated simultaneously for a while. It's been a bunch of different bars over the years.
The restaurant originally opened Nov. 18, 1978. Before owning the Service Station, Phil and Jerry Crewson both had previously owned a restaurant known as the Crosby’s across Webster Avenue. Their experience with their former restaurant led to their success in opening Service Station.
