They used to be there in the 80s. They've eroded away. ;) Roger S 12-12-2024, 09:36 AM I love the view of the mountains of OKC in the movie. We always referred to those as land fills. ;) Laramie 12-12-2024, 11:33 PM I love the view of the mountains of OKC in the movie. Let's not forget another Oklahoma City movie with mountains: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nko_C4l5YkY Laramie 12-13-2024, 09:37 AM I recall when Saving Grace aired on TNT on July 23, 2007; Clay Bennett, chairman of The Professional Basketball Club LLC had announced in May of 2007 that the Seattle Supersonics were relocating to Oklahoma City. Our two year trial run hosting the Hornets proved OKC was NBA ready. http://www.okctalk.com/images/pete/devonwiki1.jpg So many things were happening when that series aired. IIRC it was 2008 when Devon Energy announced they were going to build a 925 foot/54 floors/1.9 million sq. ft., Skyscraper Headquarters (downsized 4 stories 844 feet) in downtown OKC. It was nice supporting Oklahoma's first Big League franchise in the MAPS downtown arena. Now we have plans to secure the NBA in our city long term . Had previously admired Tulsa when they hosted the USFL Oklahoma Outlaws with plans to eventually build a 65,000-seat Oklahoma Dome stadium; along with their previous success in the North American Soccer League's Tulsa Roughnecks in the late 70s and 80s. Tulsa won the NASL's last Soccer Bowl. |
