Philly just cancelled their plan for a downtown arena. Looks like it will stay in the burbs at the sports district.

the current arena owner had to give major concessions to the team to get them to stay ..

The city had tried to get the new arena downtown because there is a significant historic area falling into disrepair. However, there was significant push back from groups afraid of gentrification. So the area will continue in decline. That's one way to keep prices down... let it keep deteriorating.
