Vecina is thrilled to announce the grand opening of its Oklahoma City location on Monday, January 13, 2025. Founded by Chef James Fox, Vecina has garnered significant acclaim since its inception in Phoenix, Arizona. Chef Fox, a James Beard Award nominee, is renowned for his creative approach to Latin American flavors, utilizing a variety of spices, chiles, and sourcing local ingredients to craft a consistently rotating seasonal menu. The Phoenix location has been praised for its inventive dishes and exceptional dining experience.
The Oklahoma City establishment continues this tradition, offering a diverse menu ranging from small plates to larger format dishes, all designed with sharing in mind. Yeah, I'm not paying $20+ for tacos. :D
OKCRealtor 01-14-2025, 07:46 AM The menu looks great but agreed on the pricing. $17 for chips & guac?

chips salsa and guac with 2 margs ... 58 plus tax and tip ... so around 78 dollars ... hmmm
OkieBerto 01-14-2025, 09:41 AM People on here acting like this is a Fuzzy's or Ted's are crazy. Yes, it is expensive, but it will taste amazing!
dcsooner 01-14-2025, 10:13 AM Amazes me how so many lament high prices yet claim to desire higher level food, entertainment and travel options. Maybe OKC overall is not rich enough to warrant bringing some of the businesses so desired to the area. Just an opinion, no empirical data to point to.
Dr Beard Face 01-14-2025, 10:31 AM Not sure why the apps all cost $1 more in OKC than the Phoenix location. $17 guac is insane, Cocktails are cheaper here than the Phoenix location, small plus.
The food looks great, I'm sure those that can afford it will enjoy their time there, but I'm not one of those people.

looks like they will roll out a happy hour menu at some point
sooner88 01-16-2025, 03:58 PM We went for lunch today, and the food was very good. However, I'm concerned that the pricing may be tough for them. 3 of us shared the guacamole, and each got a taco entree (~$25/each). The entree's come with 2 tacos, with no sides. For 3 of us, with waters only, it was around $120 including tax and tip. I'll likely give it another shot, but location and pricing will make it tough to add to the rotation.
Will Dearborn 01-16-2025, 11:24 PM Menu looks good but pretty small, bet it helps with quality. Not cheap.
