If seeing aurora borealis is on your bucket list, you might have some luck tonight, as there is a very slight possibility that we could see them on the northern horizon between 2200 local on Friday, 20240510 and 0200 local on 20240511.

AccuWeather is saying that we won’t be able to see it, but The Oklahoman is saying that we might. So if you’ve always wanted to see the northern lights, keep your fingers crossed.

Channel 5 suggested trying a camera and opening the aperture for very low light conditions and that can reveal more colors.

Drove out about 40 minutes north of the city and they were faintly visible to the naked eye. Short exposure on my cell phone brought out more colors. I would assume lower light pollution areas closer to the Kansas border got quite a show. Appears to be tapering off at least for now.
