Note that a large chunk of this new TIF is yet another carve-out from TIF #2, the big downtown TIF that is set to expire next year. This is called a Classen TIF but you'll notice it also comprises almost all of Midtown.

We keep being told, "When the TIF expires, all the property tax then starts going back to public education and the rest, so everyone wins." In fact, they just keep adding more and more and we never get to that well-hyped finish line.

I've followed all this very closely and even I have lost track of the number of TIF districts. We are adding several every single year.

Speculators and land owners asking absurdly high prices rejoice! You have TIF money coming your way!

And it is funny how this is called Classen Corridor but then juts over to include a large part of midtown.

I assure you, this is all about the Gold Dome and also the various projects planned for Midtown.

Jonathan Russell bought the dome 9 years ago for $1.1 million. Let's see what he sells if for and compare that profit to the TIF award.
