AMinEdmond 09-26-2023, 05:00 PM Nice!! I've been wondering what would go in there. Always thought it would be a good spot for a Cheesecake Factory..
OKCRealtor 09-26-2023, 05:10 PM Nice! I would think that would do well there.
Roger S 09-26-2023, 05:14 PM This is almost big enough news to get me to move back to OKC!
I like Texas de Brazil but Fogo de Chao is just slightly better in my opinion for the meats... I'll give TdB the edge on the salad bar but I don't go to a churrascaria for the salad.
Any estimate on an opening date? I'd sure like to have this for a birthday dinner this year.

I concur with your assessment. I was actually telling my wife the same thing before I saw your post! I haven't tried rodizio yet, but it is on my list.
I can't eat nearly as much as my younger days, so I tend to go for 1 really good steak like at the ranch or mahogany vs all I can eat at these places.
Good to see okc getting more dining options. The more competition the better!
jn1780 09-27-2023, 10:02 PM Nice! It only took Bravo going out of business twice before getting something good in there.

I have been proven wrong. As told to us in the arena thread, OKC citizens can't afford tickets to Thunder games, so how on earth will they afford this?

mugofbeer 09-28-2023, 01:28 PM I've eaten there a couple of times in other locations and it's a very good restaurant.
Thomas Vu 09-30-2023, 12:10 AM LMK when they have pineapple.
bombermwc 10-02-2023, 07:46 AM I do wish is just wasn't quite so pricey. It's delicious and it makes total sense as to why the price is what it is. Just bring your stretchy pants if you want to get your dollar's worth. LOL
progressiveboy 10-24-2023, 04:49 PM Glad to see this great addition coming to OKC! When I lived in Plano, would frequent the one on Beltline in Addison.
Decious 01-10-2024, 01:07 PM Just drove by this location. Looks like the remodel has started. Lots of activity.

Oklahoma City — Fogo de Chão, the internationally renowned restaurant from Brazil, has signed a lease agreement to open its first Oklahoma location in Oklahoma City. The new 8,439-square-foot restaurant is scheduled to open later this year at 13710 Pennsylvania Ave. in Memorial Square.
“We are excited to introduce Fogo to the Oklahoma market and expand our Southwest footprint with our first restaurant in Oklahoma City,” says Barry McGowan, chief executive officer of Fogo de Chão. “Our restaurant will serve as a memorable addition to Oklahoma City’s dining scene and we look forward to sharing the Culinary Art of Churrasco with new guests in OKC soon.”
Designed in partnership with global architecture and design agency Harrison, the Oklahoma City restaurant will showcase Fogo’s recent brand transformation featuring enhanced design elements like outdoor and enclosed patio areas, menu optionality and innovation platforms like a dry-aged meat locker for in-house aging. A Market Table will anchor the restaurant and feature seasonal salads, fresh superfoods, cured meats, antipasti and more. In the new restaurant, engaging social gathering spaces will be layered throughout Bar Fogo and the dining room.
Fogo de Chão (fogo-dee-shown) was founded in Southern Brazil in 1979. For more information, visit https://fogo.com/ and www.fogodechao.com.
Dr Beard Face 05-08-2024, 12:29 PM I am SO excited for this! I tried them for the first time last month, down in Irving, and holy crap it was amazing! I only have Texas De Brazil to compare in this style of restaurant, but Fogo was leagues above! I'm not even a big pork fan, but I couldn't get enough of their parmesan crusted pork! All of the sides and salads were top notch as well, i don't normally use a salad bar, but i hit this one up twice. They had a Creme Brulee Cheesecake that was out of this world good; each side was bruleed! Now, the meal was almost $100 a person, so I don't see myself getting here often, but is a seriously great special night out spot!

My friend did the soft opening and said it was on point.
Thomas Vu 07-28-2024, 08:11 PM Anybody confirm if they have grilled pineapple?
John1744 07-31-2024, 03:04 PM Anybody confirm if they have grilled pineapple?
They do not, (they have fresh pineapple on the salad bar though) seems as though in our experience only Rodizio in OKC has grilled pineapple.
We ate here Sunday evening, it was fineish... We've been to the Flame in the Grand Casino, Texas De Brazil and Rodizio numerous times each but had never been to a Fogo de Chao, and we thought the food was pretty decent at Fogo but the service and everything else was just ok if at times poor. I'm hoping that is just opening week issues. AC was not working properly. The waiter disappeared for nearly an hour during the meal and we got water refills maybe twice the entire two hour experience. The salad bar was gutted most of the time we were there and they did not seem to be able to keep it updated.
The "gauchos" or folks serving the meats did not seem to have any rhyme or reason to the pattern they were making through the restaurant, we were offered bacon wrapped chicken and steak probably 6 times in a row before any other meats made it to our table. We did end up after about two hours with just about everything but the pork belly which they were out of. We did think the meat and the seasoning on the meat was probably on the top tier of all the restaurants of this type we've been to. The salad bar when we were able to get stuff was pretty top tier as well.
Some of the meat serving folks were exceptional, my wife prefers her meat a bit more medium well and most meats at these places are medium or less and they tried very hard to make sure she got meat that met her needs which is usually not the case at most of the other places of this type we've found in the past.
I think a lot of the problems we ran into will get fixed quickly as the management seemed very aware of the issues going on. The manager at one point noticed our waters empty and personally brought some refills and asked if we'd seen our waiter in a bit, and we did admit we hadn't in over 45 minutes but the meat was still flowing fine at least. She comped one of our dinners for us. (Which saved us $62) so that was pretty cool of them. She also asked us to email our concerns to the general manager and to be frank as they are regularly having staff meetings to get the flow down better and were brining back a manager from Dallas to help them out for a bit more.
I'll definitely be back in a month or two once things settle down a bit as the food quality was pretty great.

I've had this at another restaurant this style, and yeah I'd be disappointed if the servers didn't show up with some!
Dr Beard Face 11-22-2024, 10:09 AM I went here last Friday and man, it was not on par with the Dallas location. I was hoping the service issues I had heard about would be worked out by now, but it has not been corrected. Food was good, but not as good as the Dallas location, items tended to be over cooked and dry or completely raw and too rare for our tastes. The creme Brulee cheesecake was just as amazing as the other location, but im sure its sent in frozen so it should be the same everywhere. We had SO much time without someone bringing anything by the table, and at one point the dining room lights went from low light to full blast which ruined the atmosphere. Overall it was fine, but they really need to punch up their service. The dining room is absolutely gorgeous, service needs to match.

Why do so many restaurants in OKC fall down when they open (especially places like this that have successful other locations that supposedly are run well)? This, Perle Mesta, almost any other non-Hal Smith restaurant... And then there are places like Akai Sushi that apparently have their sh!t together completely in every way from day one (we haven't been yet to see for ourselves, but they're on our shortlist).
