The Oklahoman is reporting that Lyric Theatre purchased a 40,000 sf building located at 519 N Kentucky for $2.9MM on 8/7/2023. The property is 1.5 miles from the Civic Center where they have three shows every summer and one mile from the Plaza Theatre location where they have 4-6 shows every year.

I am sure Pete knows more about this, but wanted to start its own thread.

It's been a while since I've seen a Lyric show. They only do 3 a summer? When they were at OCU I think it was 4 or 5 a summer. Am I remembering that correctly?

Yes, but they own the Plaza space and lease out the Civic Center space, so it makes more sense for them to do more shows at the Plaza than the Civic Center as it doesn't cost as much. And they were running four shows a summer up until 2018 when they went to three summer shows per season and leaning more on the Plaza shows. Also, they started doing more brand new world premier shows that were worked at Lyric and those cost more money.
