WOW Korean BBQ recently opened in the building back West from the Jimmy's Egg on May, near Memorial. Being big fans of Korean BBQ, we tried it today and it was excellent. The owners put a LOT of time, money and effort in remodeling the place and it's not only huge, with a large number of tables, the tables are not cramped at all and there are several tables for larger parties.

Everything was good, but we were especially impressed by the seafood tofu soup, beef bulgogi, spicy pork bulgogi, a garlic pork belly and the galbi short ribs. We would rate it as good as any in the metro and better than most. Much better than Maple and we thought the meats were better than Wagyu, which is a restaurant we love. Wagyu does have a better selection of appetizers, though. Also better than Gangnam, although a friend heard the same person owns both restaurant.

We got there at 11:00 and when we left at 12:30, there were a lot of tables occupied and probably 10 people waiting to be seated. The only downside is that it's one of those restaurants that are just NOISY. It's a huge, open area completely enclosed in hard, sound reflecting surfaces, so it was hard to hear each other and even hard to hear the waiter.

We were very pleased and will be regulars.
