View Full Version : Oklahoma City Thunder 2023-24 Season
kukblue1 10-29-2023, 08:19 PM Nuggets are so good. Next 3 games are what I want to see. We are slightly better than the Pistons. On the same level as the Pelicans on Wednesday night and Warriors slightly better than us on Friday. Pelicans might be every so slightly better also if they stay healthy. Either way I really want to see what we can do this week.
king183 10-29-2023, 09:43 PM I was at the game. I was struck by how much bigger Denver’s players are. They were able to body us all day long, and that’s hard to overcome. But it’s also to be expected. We are a very young team and they are a team of veterans.

Yeah! They're the defending champs and a favorite to win it all again! They are a tough match-up for anyone in the league!

Yep. it's a pretty unreliable situation unless you're on a cable setup with the BSOK channel.

kukblue1 11-01-2023, 09:44 PM Pelicans scare me cause in a few years from now they might be a team we are fighting with for the top spot. They are a pretty young team. Honestly I see the Thunder being 8 seed this year unless there are a bunch on injuries which there probably will be. Physical teams right now we can't handle. Our two losses and we were crushed on the offensive boards. Warriors should be a great game they are more guards than having physical bigs like the Nuggets and Pelicans.

Anonymous. 11-02-2023, 07:51 AM Pretty bad last night considering Ingram (Thunder killer) wasn't playing. But letting SGA continue to play on that turned ankle was not cool with me. OKC probably should have accepted the L at that point and moved to the Friday tournament game.

Agree. Daigneault should have benched Shai once the injury affected his play.
Shai will probably be on the injury list for the Thunder's first in tournament game against the GSW this Friday.

Is headless basketball another NBA "innovation" like those gaudy court graphic schemes for the in season tournament?? That may add another level of fan participation in the game with passes and shots going all over the place. Lol

here is a very interesting side piece to that deal
Another interesting part of Diamond’s NBA deal allows the 15 affected NBA teams to shop up to 10 games to an over-the-air broadcaster in each market this season. The belief is that part of the revenue from these deals will offset -- in part -- the 16% rights fee cuts. It also allows the teams to begin to establish relationships with local broadcasters, who have been aggressive in bidding for local sports rights in several markets.

That would be a welcome thing. We have plenty of OTA channels open. That would be a nice gesture to fans and the community.

Laramie 11-15-2023, 01:42 PM Golden State Warriors Injuries
November 15, 2023
Stephen Curry (PG) Status is Day-to-day.
Warriors head coach Steve Kerr said after Tuesday's 104-101 loss to the Timberwolves that Curry is considered day-to-day after an MRI on his right knee revealed "nothing alarming," Kendra Andrews of ESPN.com reports.
Thunder's next two games are at GSW Thursday 16th and Saturday 18th. We could pin two quick losses on the Warriors.

It’ll be more than Steph’s knee tweak keeping Warriors off of the court
Stephen Curry has played thru minor injuries before; often wonder if anything interrupts his play. Let's
not forget that our first play in game vs the Warriors, the Thunder had exceptional and outstanding play
from the roster in that game. Can we duplicate the efforts in that 141-139 loss to produce a win.
Please don't get me started on Draymond Green (AKA Mighty Joe Young), it is obvious he gets special treatment
from NBA officials.
CCOKC 11-16-2023, 06:50 AM It's official. Draymond has been suspended for the next 5 games. Although that may help the Warriors. I was at the game in OKC and I thought his play hurt the team when he was on the court.
Laramie 11-16-2023, 09:06 AM Thunder improves with experience, Daigneault's coaching will be a difference maker.
Agree, Green may be hurting the Warriors, until his replacements can make up the difference--the continuity is loss without Green who IMO gives the Warriors a phycological edge.
Thunder improving their play on the road will be the deciding factor; take advantage of Green's absence puts more pressure on an ailing Curry and the bench--two road wins in SF could potentially knock the 1-loss Warriors out of the play in tourney.
NBA In-Season Tournament 2023: https://bleacherreport.com/articles/10097408-nba-in-season-tournament-2023-latest-standings-predictions-after-nov-14-group-play
Urbanized 11-16-2023, 09:13 AM Five games. What a joke. Once again he gets away pretty clean with a premeditated physical assault witnessed by millions. I say premeditated because he went straight for someone he had beef with, someone who was pretty obviously trying to break up a fight. Draymond had just been WAITING for that opportunity.
Meanwhile Ja Morant lost a massive chunk of a season for flashing a gun for a split second in a TikTok video. Not defending Ja; he got what he deserved. But I think a non-basketball move WWE-style sleeper hold should take someone off the the court for many weeks at the very least. That was a split second away from requiring the filing of criminal charges.
