that's an interesting favorite... are you fond of that song in general or donna summer's rendition specifically?

The Moody Blues were an English rock band formed in Birmingham in May 1964. The band initially consisted of drummer Graeme Edge, guitarist and vocalist Denny Laine, keyboardist and vocalist Mike Pinder, 'Nights in White Satin.' wrote by Justin Haywood.

Now I'll, give others time to post.

1) The song... 2) The singer

All versions of MacArthur Park have been good, that's what makes it an outstanding song.

gotcha... i've always associated that song with richard harris more than anybody else. 'alternate' versions of famous songs are kind of fascinating to me.

He (Richard Harris) does a beautiful version of MacArthur Park more "All American.' I've heard his version--just super!

Prince's epic masterpiece "Purple Rain" in a very long live concert version. My friend who is a bigger fan of Prince than me wouldn't mind having that song played at her funeral.

I have always thought the lyrics to MacArthur Park were very odd and yet the song was popular when released.

So many "favorite" songs to choose from but right now, I would go with a song I hadn't heard in decades and just happened upon it in the last year and have been hooked ever since. I think it's literally a perfect song. Perfect lyrics. Perfect vocals, Perfect composition. Perfect playing.
