I was getting food at Braums on NW 12th Street this afternoon and noticed them working on the old spot where the A&W burned down several years ago. DOes anyone know what is going in that spot? This is next to Kentucky Fried Chicken on that side road.

It is about time, it was an eyesore but I would not be surprised if they decided to rebuild it

Really? There is one already at NW 27th and I-35 seems awfully close to that one.

It will be a Starbucks

If that is true then that is very surprising since Starbucks is only a mile away

Back when this Shrek movie was made. Starbucks going pretty crazy with the number of locations in larger cities. They shut a bunch down and their were still a lot.

I drive by the one on 27th every day. If the lines are any indication of demand, then a 12th street location will be a good addition. The 27th st location has a line out to the street (and sometimes in the street) every day.

I don't personally like most chain coffee places, including Starbies. So I don't get it, but there are PLENTY of people out there that happily line up for their long wait every day.

I passed by and it is looking good so far, is there an opening date?

Starbucks is now open, it is only for drive through and pick up only, there is no seating inside since I went to check out the place out today and get coffee

And they closed the one on 27th for remodeling too. I thought the timing was a bit short-sighted since they closed one before the other was actually open. It would have been a really good way to keep the local trained staff employed and also open a new store with fully trained staff. I'm wondering if they are different franchisees, so technically are competing with each other then?

The local trained staff has transferred to the new Starbucks, I was talking to him a few days ago and he said he got promoted and will be staying at the new location instead of going back to the old location when it re-opens

Well that's really good then. With the way the timing of the opening/closing looked, it didn't look like that from the outside. I'm glad they were able to take care of everyone.
