Already open at 111 E. California on the Bricktown Canal, The Side Chick is celebrating its official grand opening on April 21st.

Aiming to be a fun, vibrant environment, they feature a small menu with weekly specials, signature cocktails, and a full bar as well as 18 large TVs playing nonstop sports and entertainment. They describe themselves as a family-friendly bar and grill.

Hours are Sunday - Thursday 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM; Friday and Saturday 11:00 AM to Midnight.

The new place is owned by a local couple.

Doesn’t look like a singles bar or a hangout spot to me. I would be the majority of their customers are couples or groups of friends.

Regardless of the name adding any life near the canal is good.

Don't get me wrong, its a awesome name for a bar. Didn't intend anything negative with my comment. Certainly more classy than being named after an owl.

It looks pretty nice. I wonder if they added restrooms inside the space.

Redone maybe? The last time I was in Hooters the men's restroom was about as bad as I've been in. And I've been some real dive bars.

The building owners have made repairs.

Menu looks good. I'll add it to my list of places to visit.
