This development looks awesome.

That is currently an empty lot on Main Street at the RR tracks. Hopefully it's able to get off the ground, it will fill a huge hole.

Another view of the Paine & Assoc. project which is on the other side of the RR tracks. It replaces an empty building and lumber yard next to Rustic Gate Creamery and George's Pub. Great spot for a future commuter rail station with a direct rail line to downtown Tulsa

ANOTHER huge Jenks development: https://www.newson6.com/story/63f36e72d41c5207245a2f16/new-entertainment-venue-market-coming-to-jenks

Absolutely wild how much they are getting. It's like a dam has burst all the sudden. The outlet mall, the big mixed use, the Paine & Assoc. project BG918 posted above, and now this. Crazy.

Sure hope Sapulpa gets a little splash over soon. We've got a bunch of new business coming into our downtown but ultimately we have a new master plan to bring in some major development like this.

I wish OKC suburbs were doing this well. None are anywhere close to getting a Lululemon, or anything comparable to it.

Norman hates development, Moore only allows crappy strip malls, Edmond, for some reason, doesn't have any upscale retail developments. I just don't get it.

Ironically, I think the announcement of the new dam helped:

Agree, still a ways out but at least it's in the works

Survey, design, and engineering work is expected to begin in early 2024 and continue through 2025, with construction beginning in mid-2025. A completion date is expected by mid-2027.

The dam will also have a pedestrian bridge

Not tooooo far out. 4 years will be here before you know it and most of these proposed projects will start opening over the next 1-2 years. I bet that area becomes a lot more popular as 2027 nears...good call on them getting out ahead of it.

It's insane how much has been proposed in that area for the next few years. It's said a lot, but it will be completely unrecognizable. I just can't believe it took so long for all this development to catch on. Jenks has been a hot spot for the suburbs for a long time.

This dam/bridge and all the revitalized green space will interact well with the several large new businesses going in which include new restaurants, pickleball courts, and other entertainment - not to mention the outlet mall!

So the outlet mall has been open for a weekend now and it has been a hit so far. I haven't bothered trying to check it out yet because the parking has always been full when I go past. I'll give it a few weeks. Definitely a strong start.

Haven't seen much else kick off in Jenks from all the other projects that were announced a year or so ago - other than the central downtown stuff with Tedford Insurance. I'd really like to see at least one of those residential developments and the Jenks Market come in. Seems like there has been some blowback from residents due to all the construction and traffic, so that might be slowing things down. They've also been very slowly rebuilding main street. I wish they had just closed it off and gotten it done in a couple of months, because I am pretty sure they are pushing a year now for less than a couple miles of two-lane road.

OKC person here, but when I have visited Jenks, i've always been surprised about how "small town" it feels with so many 2 lane roads and everything feeling very disconnected from the next thing. Sort of like isolated areas rather than a connected community. Am I just going to the wrong places in town or is that accurate?

Spot on - I think it's due to the natural constraints that are unique to Jenks: the Arkansas River on one side, levees surrounding the city, Polecat Creek floodplain to the south, the Riverside airport to the north. The downtown has a connected feel with the high school but the neighborhood areas are disjointed.
